    An Opportunity!!

I also believe in prognostication, but being a venture capitalist, and pragmatist, I'm willing to venture capital on my "observations". I trust that one who would provide investment gambling advice on a Coin Talk site would also venture their Numismatic capital to support their predictions, especially if given favorable odds. Since there is little to be gained by your negative prediction, I'll gamble on your positive prediction. I'm proposing to bet my $100 face pre-1964 U.S. Silver coinage in minimum Fine condition against your $75 like coinage. I predict that your $23/ounce Silver price will not be realized by years end, and I say we should invest. I hope that this proposal isn't in violation of site rules, but will be accepted as a "short counter", as yours was a long recommendation for investment of others' capital. What say thee? Are there any who "take exception", as I will gladly defer to constructive correction.:thumb:

    You predict???
    :rolling:

At the close of US markets on Friday 1/22 we already saw:

    Low: $16.86/oz.

    Bid: $16.97

    Ask: $17.01

Asian markets for Monday 01/25 open shortly.
Lets see where things are heading. kitco

That's not much of a "prediction" since silver is already under $17.

Does that bet mean anytime of the year....so like if silver goes to $23.01 on June 18th or August 6th, or Sept 25th, or November 19th for instance, and then drops back down to $18.52 the next day, does that count? Or do you mean on Dec. 31st at midnight? I'm thinking of taking you up on that.

    Another Opportunity!!

Your understanding is correct, that if the "spot price" of Silver meets or exceeds $23/ounce between now and the first moment of 2011, you have won the coins stated in my proposal, sent within 30 days of the realized $23/ounce spot price, Ppd - insured, to a name/address of your choice (I proposed to bet my $100 face pre-1964 U.S. Silver coinage in minimum Fine condition against your $75 like coinage). However, should the price of Silver never reach $23/ounce during the year of 2010, you as an honorable gentleman will send $75 face like coinage, or acceptable coins of comparable wholesale value, within 30 days of years end, Ppd - insured, to a name/address of my choice. Verbal written acceptance on this site will constitute a contractual agreement, witnessed by those placing subsequent posts, and all viewers. A PM would be submitted by both parties, subsequent to the public agreement, providing the legal respective name/address of the individual contracting parties, verified by private transmission of photo ID. Thanks for the inquiry and consideration.

Lets be straight on one thing here, i am sure any prediction i made was wrong and even if i was right i would not take anothers coin (pre 64) or not! I put that out there more as bait to see what the experts here (which i AM NOT!) would say? I do think silver is way under valued and yes at some point will go over $23 this year maybe? In my life yes!

    Where am i?

I believe that the "agreement" would be consummated in Cyberspace, a tributary of the world, of which cyberlaws apply, but may be adjudicated in virtually any international jurisdiction. The applicable laws/ordinances/rules would be those of the local community, CTLAND. I trust this answer is acceptable, as was your seemingly rhetorical question, which I believe, would profoundly be answered in the affirmative. Thanks for the query.

I just wouldn't want us to get in trouble in such a public place. But a gentlemen's bet isn't really gambling. Let's see what happens this year....I'm very curious. It looks like things are taking a dip as or right now because of the restrictions in China's lending....but it's funny how gold and silver seem to go up when Hong Kong is trading and down when NYMEX opens up. Or do you think this has something to do with the Obama Speech on Thursday?
