i saw 2008w unc american eagle 1/4 ounce gold coin selling at e-bay for $1,695.00. lowest mintage of all eagle and buffalo, proof or uncirculated, this coin should continue to go up up and up.

Amazing! I got a 2008w AGB Proof 1/4 from the Mint at $329.95 + 4.95 s/h (7/23/08). It's tempting to flip now just to acquire a full ounce for this 1/4 oz. piece. Simply amazing.

LOL! I would have never expected this sort of turn around and move up this quickly myself when I bought this piece. I wish old Pandas would have done this as well. I'd sooner part with those than any of my AGB herd.

 

I should have got the 08 also! I have been trying to sell a PCGS 2006-W half eagle but so far no bites! Well, I did get 1 offer but it was $50.00 below melt.

ooosssss. the 2008w american eagle four pieces set is ask now at $5,400.00. which is the highest ask price.

 

Hopefully as they dry up the price will continue to climb! I have to thank the guy at my local gold store/pawn shop who turned me onto them early last summer. I missed out on them from the mint but picked up a 1/10 and 1/4 for $600, then paid a lot at the time for a set on ebay, $2855 shipped... Yup pretty happy about that!

I definitely think this set will continue to rise as there are many more gold eagle collectors then there are 2008w coins available. Wouldn't be suprised to see the set going for $8,000-$10,000 in the next few years once they all dry up from Ebay... Get em while you can folks!

some of the 1/2 oz AGE is always command a premium since before. again it is base on supply and demand. for example. if you are a very rich guy. you like a certain coin. you can push that coin high to the roof. just like pushing one stock higher. of course the key or the rare is another factor. others such as design, popularity, error, toned and so forth.
