Here's my 1/4 ounce Mexican Libertad, mintage was 3000 for this piece in 2009. Seems like every year since then the mintage numbers have dropped substantially, that's what happens when popularity is realized!
Thanks for not posting the same photo over and over again.....sometimes people even make 5 consecutive post with the same old photos on every thread.
The dropoff from 1981 over the years/decades is fascinating. I know that it was the end of an epic 20-fold rise in the price of gold, but the production falloff since then is stunning.
What, did they run out of gold...LOL, the premiums on the 1OZ Libertad are just ridiculous I ve seen as high as 2X, you would never realize that premium, or you could just say you have one..LOL
there's not allot available to compare, I do plan on adding some more 1/10 Libertads just picked up a 2015, which I am happy to report I won't be getting that premium back, LOL, I think there is a list at the beginning of this thread that go over all Mexican gold images, since I am a Krugger guy I found a pop report for kruggers that I got directly from the South African mint, have turned this in to a pretty cool game, all kruggers have a very prominent date on them so using them to represent special life events, my LCS has a few of my key dates, will probably pick another up end of month, my life event set at current levels will cost me close to 60K. In addition my LCS tells me there is no premium on any year Thats beyond puzzling the 67,68 and 69 1 OZ Kruggers only have 30,000 68 and 69 67 has 50,000 mintages in the late 90,s are stupid low 12,000 on 3 years.
YUMMY, chocolate pudding, anyone?? 4 tablespoons of COCOA, 2 tablespoons of CORN STARCH, 1 and a half cups of MILK... and don't forget a half teaspoon of VANILLA, all MEXICAN products. Guess WHO provides the SUGAR.
That is a large supply relative to the number of individuals who collect Kruggerands for numismatic as opposed to bullion purposes. There's no relative scarcity for the investment and numismatic demand....not like that 1995-W ASE where you have hundreds of thousands collecting ASEs and stacking them.
there are several years of kruggers in the millions, just depends on what year, but there really isn an extra value added, thank god, some of the ones I am looking for are low pops !
1/10th ouncers are ALWATS richly priced relative to their underlying gold content. That's true for AGEs where the pop numbers are higher, so with a lower-produced foreign coin there is the reason for even higher premiums.
1 oz. or 1/10th oz. ? I bet the premiums on the 1/10th ouncers are high even for the Kruggerand if not as high as the Libertad.
the 1 OZ is out of site demanding 2.5 times spot, the 1/10 OZ is similar just on a smaller scale...LOL, the Krugger can still demand a premium in 1/10 OZ but very competitive in the 1 OZ
I would say my collection of kruggers is going up, will be going in this week to pick up another year 1979 or 83 both cool times in my life.
Yeah, you're doing really well with the diversification you've worked up to! I guess you can say you've been blessed by the money God's!
