@Cucumbor said he was going to send me something, but didn't say what it was.

While this envelope was traveling across the Atlantic, I had forgotten all about him saying that.

Inside was a lovely proof 2001 20-centime piece!

I see plenty of these in World coin bulk lots, but of course those are the business strikes.

This is the first proof I have had. Quite a lovely design.

    Merci beaucoup, @Cucumbor!

So the big question now is "where do I put the hole"?

Yeesh. That's only the 3,419th time I've heard that joke. :yack:

Then again, by dressing up like this for coin shows in the past, I suppose I was asking for it.

It could happen. Stuff has a way of slipping through my fingers. Even the stuff I keep for my personal collection is not immune. ;)

I like to keep some things a while, then pass 'em on down the line.

@Cucumbor was (unnecessarily) reciprocating because he won my 20th anniversary giveaway on CU, and got this lovely PCGS MS66 steel cent, which I was actually thinking of keeping for my Eclectic Box collection. But I wanted to offer some nice prizes for that special giveaway, so I put the steel cent in there as one of the options for the giveaway. I do have another steelie in a PCGS MS64 holder, as it happens.

Not one for being shy about being the center of attention, are we? ;)

It was my one time to be flamboyant and extroverted. Usually (outside of these forums), I am very much the introverted loner type. Only with coin geeky types do I come out of my shell occasionally.

Oh, by all means, josh away!

Just try to use a less threadbare joke. That one's got too much mileage on it. ;)

That is a beautiful coin and a great gift from an awesome CT'er.
I too, have seen plenty of business strikes in world coin bins, but never a proof.
