Yes, I'm starting to think the government has a big hand in this price manipulation as I'm thinking with all the quantitative easing that has been printed the price of gold should have at least gone above $2000 a couple of times this year and it hasn't! Frustrating time to want to buy for sure! :D

And also consider the inflation rate.

I can't believe platinum is also so low.it's in the lower 900.00 range.does anyone think it's a good buy at this level?

Yes, it's a very decent buy but don't listen to me, seems like every time I buy platinum the price goes lower than the price I paid! :D Story of my life!

Palladium has lost around $900 dollars in the last two months. I think platinum and palladium are down because of the auto industry. I think if inflation takes off, gold and silver will go up IMHO.

    Not if it’s still dropping.

If? It’s here. In the last 7 months gas has gone up $1.00 a gallon, food prices have also gone up. A can of beans was $.47, now it’s $.75. I buy all of my meat at a butcher shop a little over a mile away. I used to buy a steak at $9.00 a pound. In the last 6 months that same cut of meat is now $10.50 a pound. I was able to buy dinner for 2 for under $12.00, now, that same meal is $20.00 if not higher. Inflation is here.

Gold is actually doing REALLY well.

Maybe not today or this year but just in general.

If you look at the 1930s Gold was $20/oz which is about $400/oz accounting for inflation. That means gold is worth 4x more today than back then even with inflation taken into account.

Buy the dip. When prices go down use it to your advantage to stock up on more.

Yes, you're right, it's just not doing as well as I'd like. I expected the spot price to be higher than it is right now that's all. Oh well, there's a coin show next week in my area, hopefully the price will stay below $1800, so I can pick something up! :D

I think its manipulation, whatever, dollar up is a good reason for the banks to smash the price down. Count your ounces not anything else.

I bought a dozen or so Intaglio Mint products on Wednesday. I should have posted that buy so others would know a price drop was coming. Sorry.

That is the right way to view it. I used to get so stressed over these spot price levels. I finally stopped focusing so much attention on them almost twenty years ago and when I stopped watching… Boom the value had doubled.

Nothing to do with manipulation, has to do with greater liquidity and demand for Treasury bonds, other risk-free assets, currencies, and crypto currencies.
