The most popular coin overall, you can look on line anywhere and find
the same, I have nothing against American gold I just prefer kruggers
as they are more of a international coin.

The Krugerrand was the highest production gold coin for decades, by far. It only stands to reason it is the most traded gold coin worldwide. Look at YOUR poll numbers though.

This an April '21 started Poll. When I started 'golding over a decade and a half ago I hardly ever saw Krugs in my shop or marketplace...They were minted in enormous quantities around the start of the series but it was off-and-on and then more limited numbers later until present (if I'm not wrong). It's just been recent years that Krugs have started showing up; locally they were cheaper than Maples and few purchased them. I think a LOT of new-'golder people were unfamiliar with them. My Dad short-term held a handful of Krugs back in the 70's. I suspected that when gold started reaching new record highs $ many older holders sold gold for profits, thereby Krugs now becoming more common on the marketplace again. As people learn that Krugs are the SAME alloys as the AGEs, which were copied after Krugs to be the American equivalent, but can get them cheaper than Maples at first recently, then on par with Maples my shop runs out as fast as they restock. With "minimize your premium" as a general rule for purchases, I just don't see Buffalos (the American equivalent of the Maple) that attractive on a design or price basis. They might be good for having a few for variety but stacking Buffs, I don't see or hear it.

IMHO don't poke the gold bear. Throughout human history gold has been a tangible image of accumulated and preserved wealth, power, ego and leverage for politics. Even SURVIVAL.

In this GLOBAL economy, finances I'm finding a personal "huge sucking sound" for gold in (most) all forms mirroring that of China (especially) and India...ALL dealers are often SOLD OUT of gold regardless of the country or design. That's why gold is such a precious metal ;)

I sleep very well at night knowing I own a handful of physical gold like Dad. I know my sellers and buyer community.

In this contemporary atmosphere it's both an emotional AND physical metal...NOT an investment for instant riches. Don't get caught up in the emotional because it will bring you DOWN to disappointment, wealth losses and numismatic Hell.

Summary?...just buy gold and don't get caught up in the emotional and psychological aspect...jut like Wall Street...AFTER referring to where NOT to purchase gold. Long term gold does what it does.

It's ALL gold. Wherever you are in it's indigenous forms. Don't split hairs. Gold is forever.

Thanks for responding. Your location as Troll "under the bridge" speaks volumes. I spent a career in govt employ with individuals like this. The best option is for "Ignore". Go poke someone else.

    I agree. Not so pretty.

Krugerrands are my choice. They are attractive. Maple leaf second - I own neither yet though.
