Is there any difference between .999 and .9999 fine gold/silver?

    This question about percentage of gold is way out of my pay grade. I'm still having a hard time telling the different between coins that are MS 65, 66, 67, 68, and 69. :)

    That's when the fight usually starts. :p

    As long as were talking about gold....someone go buy that gold fretboard has listed in the classifieds section so I dont have to be tempted anymore.

    I agree with you. I don't like the appearance of the American Gold Eagle or the Krugerrand either. They have a reddish appearance, where as the 24K has a rich buttery color, so much better looking.

    Gold tones like any other metal will...No visual diff. between .999 and .9999. There is a diff. in the look of .90 and .9999 or .999 with the added 10% copper alloy.
