Any idea what the 5 oz silvers will sell for over spot? Also any guess as to how many they will make of each? do they have a maximum in the law? Lack
Oh right, they've got silver enough to make these, but not silver enough to make '09 proof SAE's. Don't get me started. These things are gonna cost you Lack'......expect an exorbitant premium over spot.
at $17 spot would be $85 in silver. You think the authorized sellers will want $120 or maybe more? They are tacking about $5 on a one oz eagle. Lack
We need an authorized seller here on CT that can sell them to us for a reasonable price. That would be nice. These are a gotta have as far as I'm concerned!
US MINT Press release: AtBQ Program announcement America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008 H.R. 6184 - AtBQ America the Beautiful Quarters Release schedule kitco.com/market for precious metals US Mint PRICING OF NUMISMATIC PRODUCTS CONTAINING GOLD & PLATINUM COINS The US Mint doesn't yet have a chart for SILVER products do they? With this longer running series of larger priced silver coins, perhaps they will introduce a chart that will reflect the market price of silver and effect the pricing of each coin as they are released. Or maybe not. I believe I read online that the Mint will not sell these on their website but rather they're to be sold at the parks. No mintage limits yet announced, that I've read. I'll guess an initial release price of the first coin in April 2010 to price $155 - $175.
I was gonna guess $135, but yours is probably closer. Silver will probably be higher by then. I am really looking forward to them, and really wish the mint would sell them!
Yes, I put silver at $25/oz. (personally I find that a high estimate by the end of the first quarter), plus the usual over spot price for any bullion, plus the Mint's premium over that, plus the packaging contraption these things will likely be entombed in that you need to pay for and any extras to cover marketing and whatnot: 5 oz x $25 an easy $125 then a pretty easy leap to imagine the Mint tacking on an extra $30 - $50 to round us out to $155 - $175 for the first coin.
I like greens comment! It's gonna haunt us for maybe another 23 years.I just typed a long paragraph, but then erased it because it would probably been considered political. I guess they found a big stash of silver that they forgot about.
I think it's more of a gimmick and the buyers will come to regret paying the premium a few years from now.
Are they going to mint these in proof form? I scanned over it but didn't find. The proofs are what I really want!
Even if I have the money, I do not like the idea of Overpaying. Just guessing but believe the premium will be more than I am willing to spend.
I wouldn't be surprised if you see a lot of dumping of these into the secondary market, just like First Spouses, once the bloom is off the rose.
before the bottom falls out only after the TV shopping networks have sold a ton of them for twice their worth. Sorry, I'm in a pessimistic mood. However, what can you say about a hobby that has PT Barnum on one if its more collectable items?
I'll guess that on the secondary market they'll go for $250 for the first month then drop to about $140.
