This is a very big deal for me as I've said before right here on CT that I wasn't gonna pay these crazy Silver premiums! Well, I had to change my mind for this Hospital Trust National Bank Silver Bar from the 1970's-80's. These are hard to find and there's always a premium plus a vintage tax! I already had the one ounce size from years ago so I was laying low for a 10 ouncer and one popped up for a fair price on the bay. Will I buy more Silver? Let's just say I don't have any plans to, but I won't say never!
No connection at all but the one ounce bar is one of the first bars I ever bought, so I always wanted a bigger one! I just like the design!
I really like the obscurity of the bar, have seen allot of 10 OZ bars but never this particular one, congrats on a great find
Yeah, here's my other vintage bar from First National Bank of Chicago. They never minted bigger bars so this is probably the only one I'll ever own. Pretty sure this is a 1970's bar as shown by the engraved price of Silver in 1978. That's not what I paid for it tho', got it a long time ago, probably paid $20 for it!
Oh dear, that 'troll sweeper' again. Minds eye of what and who his intentions are. Who's the troll, eh?
Very nice piece.10 ounce bars are my favorite size bars. They are the perfect size and when holding them it feels like you own something (unlike it's cash equivalent) Congrats!
Yes, if I had the bucks that's what I would be stacking as you get a price break on the tens as well, unlike most ouncers.
