Exactly! And to think they just sat at the mint and nobody was ordering them. I think I've thanked Elaine 4-5 times since she brought it to my attention, and I was able to get mine right before they ran out.

The 2008 Gold Buffalo Proof set...

 

the highest returns are the 2008 american buffalo 1/10 oz proof and uncirculated gold coins. i think is around 350% to 400% mark up. followed by the 1/4 oz. $600.00 to $700.00 per 1/10 oz is just like you are buying the gold spot at $6,000.00 to $7,000.00 a piece. still those are very hard to get it.

 

I buy the AGB Proof every year as an ongoing collection, but I bought the Prosperity set and the 1/4 ounce Unc because I agreed with what Elaine kept saying about them being a low mintage item. I got very lucky and was able to buy them just before they ran out. I think Argento was doing the same thing.

 

The figures I have is a little different for the 1 oz Proof AGB.

4 Coin Proof Set: 7,931
Total 1 oz Proof AGB: 19.951
So that makes the individual 1 oz: 11,660

These figures are right on target. The deals are selling at these "maximum retail rates". Elaine, do you still stand by your figures for the 2008 W eagle prices, or have those already changed from 2 weeks ago?

 

by far as i know. those dealers still stand strong at those high bid prices and very very few will sell it to them. the fluctuation of gold will not affect those collector's items. specially the w mint mark AGE and 2008 AGB proof and uncirculated. because simply there were very few exist and very few would like to sell them. some of the AGE uncirculated with w mint mark data. i am still waiting available from within one to two weeks time. so by that time i can adjust the maximum retail prices. to go up or down. i really don't know. but i think it will maintain and some might still go up. as for bullion gold. i am very confidence that it will go up again and break the all time record high. and the stock market will also be that direction.

Elaine, where do u see the value of the 2009 Buff Proof going? where is it at now? what are the most recent mintage numbers?

 

right now the big dealers is selling around $1,490.00. the mint still selling at $1,410.00. and might go down to $1,360.00 depending the gold average price. if go down to $1,360.00. which is the first initial offering price from the mint. the mint might continue to sell it till 2010 buffalo come out. which is very bad. by then the mintage might be high or just like the UHR double eagle. another factor is the price of gold. at 50,000 mintage. the buffalo should have some small premium. over that to 100,000. the price should be bullion related. just like you are buying the common american eagle. still you will have to pay some small premium. but when you sell them. it will be bullion value. now the thing we buy this 2009 buffalo is simply buffalo is beautiful and we like to collect them. that's it.
