From the Rose Creek Placer East Range in Humboldt County, Nevada. Just over a guarded of an ounce do a big heavier but smaller than the other nugget I posted yesterday. This has a hole in it, a natural hole. Both sides are displayed.
I’m too far to make it profitable but it can be fun panning for gold. This was purchased for $75.00 under spot and over $100.00 for the expected going rate for gold nuggets as mineral Specimens.
I have panned and sluiced for gold in a mountain spring and snow meltoff frigid Cosumnes River in the deep of summer and believe me there is no colder water. You can find colour if you work hard enough, but there is a reason gold is not cheap.
I hear you but to me it’s fun and relaxing. It gets you away from everything. Just you and nature and at the end of the day hopefully your a little richer but you’ll be tired.
More than that, if your family history includes gold miners - you get a real appreciation of what they went through.
I can only imagine, what the settlers went thru making there way west, no A/C and suite hot conditions.
I need to keep looking. I am very interested in adding a few gold nuggets but all the ones I find are 20% over spot. I would be a buyer at spot (or bigger buyer under).
I had the chance to buy sober an ounce of gold nuggets in a recent auction but I didn’t because they went for 31% over spot price.
Thank you, that is the first REAL nugget I have ever seen. seen a few on "gold hunters" on TV but they could be props for all know. Thanks for sharing.
Good call. I love nuggets too, but 31% over spot @ $1800 per oz. we could almost buy a Saint Gaudens At least a common date one lol.
When I buy nuggets I figure the price on spot at the time. Spot goes up and it goes down. Nuggets are not something you speculate with. Then again, neither are coins.
