Gorgeous color. Probably over graded. Only the crazy registry sets people will pay that crazy price.

I still am unable to wrap my mind around a six figure Franklin.... It just astounds me that a market exists for such a thing.

Fortunately I have no interest in colorfully toned coins.
That market has held on for several years, but I suspect it will collapse in the not too distant future.
I suspect the trigger will be people trying to sell them for more than they paid (which makes sense; why sell at a loss).
But when buyers won't be willing to pay that amount the "colorfully toned coins" market will be over.

It would take more than a Franklin for me to consider investing in a single coin, even if I could afford it.

I offered 2,000 sheets of reusable 3/8" 4X8 plywood. Just some fastener holes, other than that, good stuff.

I am glad that I don’t suffer from the toned coin sickness.

Well, I looked at it and saw there were no bids. So, I thought I would "start the bidding", just so I could say I bid on it. Then I saw that the starting bid was $50,000. While I know that would not meet the reserve, I'm not taking a chance on it. I don't even like toned coins, lol.

I find them attractive, but that doesn't turn a $50 item into a $70,000 "wonder coin."

I agree with you on the price is crazy. I think it would be in the $400-500 range. The registry deep pocketed collectors drive the price that high.
