2009 american eagle bullion fractional gold coins will be out on dec. 3, 2009. same date with platinum proof. my estimate mintage as follows:
40,000 to 50,000 half ounce gold, 30,000 to 40,000 1/4 oz gold and 100,000 to 120,000 1/10 gold. that is if us. mint closes early next year. if not the mintage will much much higher.

krispy. i think you have mentioned fractional bullion eagle before. are you buying them?.

 

With mintage as high as you estimate do you they'll increase in value?

 

no. because the low mintage already taken by 2006w to 2008w.

currently bullion eagle gold retail prices as ff:

half ounce - $633.71
1/4 ounce - $325.50
1/10 ounce - 134.81

elaine: I like the 1/4 and maybe the 1/10 this year, but 1/10th diameter AGE is not appealing to me. I have not placed any pre-orders. Waiting to see what prices will be once dealers have them in hand and able to deliver when I place an order. By waiting, I was hoping for gold to come off this rise and settle somewhere for the rest of the year. Not sure that will happen, but I'm still holding off from buying at this time. If PMs continue to rise this steadily maybe other gold coins will be a better option instead of paying the premium for AGE.

 

am i missing something? where does it say the mint's selling these on 12/3?

to oodinero: bullion coins are not included in the mint schedule list. because as for bullion coins. you have to buy it from any dealers. the mint sell bullion coins to those very big dealers only. like kripsy and gold inc.

to krispy: i also hate 1/10 oz also. i missed the 2008w 1/10 buffalo proof. it went up 350%. which is the best. my inventory for 1/10 gold is less than 10. 1/4 and 1/2 are the most. 1 ounce may be less than 50.

and just like all dealers who depend on a Mint source, I prefer to elaine's personal Fort Knox for the best stock in gold and silver coin, but her premiums are too high for me so I can only buy one coin each from the US Mint and another one slabbed off the secondary market when I get lucky. :goofer:

 

what about elaine's fort knox buying krispy & gold inc. wall street will be stunt by this latest tomorrow news headline. well. i will not buy K.G.I.. instead. we will be consolidate and name it krispy's fort knox instead.

Hi all, I am very new here, like in the last 15min. I bought a few slabbed 2008W10$ ge coins lately with the idea they would be the lowest mintage for sometime.
Then I see the mint is releasing bullion fractions today. How bad did I miss up here? Will the mintage of the 2009 $10 ge be more or less than the 8883 of 2008-w in anyones opinion. I see Krispy thinks much more and I hope he is correct...But just the same I think I may have been taken a bit by the low mintage talk about the 2008-w. I seem to be easy to take advantage of in this field. Any other ideas on the mintage.

If price levels were a bit more sane I may jump on these but $1000+ and oz is just stupid.

 

no "W's" will be issued this year. These are bullion coins not the satin finish ones.

 

Thanks danr that was exactly what I was looking for. Now in gold can go back up some those coins sold to the dealers will be sold to the public and not returned.

mint should stop producing all 2009 gold and silver products and concentrate on 2010. like the mint should stop producing 2009 buffalo gold proof by december 31. and start producing 2010 buffalo gold proof.

 

Do you know if they're going to release proof agen and proof fractionals for 2010?
