2009 american buffalo one ounce proof gold.

So I spoke to the mint this morning.... for some reason the bank denied my credit card when they tried to run my second buffalo, but then allowed it for the first and third (ive got plenty of credit, no reason it shoulda been denied) My third buffalo has now shipped and when I asked about the second one they said it will be another 3-4 weeks..... seems like a load of crap to me, they never contacted me in anyway to ask about another form of payment, or anything. All I needed to do was calll the bank and say no my cards not stolen, just allow them to run it and it woulda been gravy, but now im playing the waiting game again. Not pleased with the mints customer service! How is my coin in stock and reserved if its going to take 4 freaking weeks to ship!? They should have called me to ask about payment!

I had the opposite thing happen with my order, I dont watch my bank balance too often and keep a large cushion in my checking. I ordered 1 buffalo and Friday I received 2 of them!. I checked and they charged me for 2!. I am sending 1 of them back to the mint on Monday.

 

Well, being late to the party is typically not my style....but I am proud to say that it is finally here!!!!!! Came two minutes ago. Had that box ripped open within secs, looked over the coin really well and now I am letting it adjust to room temp before I start taking some pics. Not a mark on it or a break in the frosting anywhere. I am really happy. Glad I didn't get someones leftovers. Pics will be coming later on today.

With all this talk of left overs already and me still holding off from buying one of these from the Mint, I may just buy a slabbed AGB from a dealer when I'm ready to add to my collection. We'll see...

 

Ya know....Sometimes I wonder if that is just the best way to go. If mint packaging isn't a big thing for you then that is definitely the way to go...but I even noticed on ebay that some sellers even sell the OGP along with the coin. Hope you get your buff soon.

Bank problems, dollar

Many credit card companies like you to call them in advance and tell them you will be spending XXXX.XX so they know what is going on.
Scams abound and coins add up fast.
The dollar is really getting the population nervous. There are a lot of dollars in institutions earning very little and showing signs of going lower.
Almost all countries use fiat currency. We have a debt ratio that is very high. I wonder if countries that hold dollars will use them to buy American companies and assets ?
They want some return on their investment.

 

Last Opportunity

I noticed that the US Mint has a Last Opportunity Page. It does not say anything about the proof Buffalo being discontinued in the near future. Does this mean they will still be making them into 2010?

I got my first proof buffalo (plus a UHR) from the mint today; both are simply beautiful. Very impressed with the coin quality and packaging from the mint. I learned a lot from this forum and appreciate everyone's opinion and info.
