USD at 74.2 right now. It seems to be trying to get back to 75 but can't sustain....74 will probably be the new floor for awhile, and then maybe down to 73....

Looks like gold recovered nicely from the Dubai debacle....

The nice thing about 20oz rolls...they don't take up much space :)

Speaking for the dollar only, I don't believe that gold is ever shoot down form this point on. It might very by a little over $100 downwards occasionally, but on the long timeline it is just gonna keep increasing.

My reasoning being that the United states is never going to pay off it's debts to the rest of the world. It just isn't gonna happen. Rather I believe that eventually the dollar will be replaced by something else, probably an international currency or something. And I thing it will happen within the next 50 years. probably sooner.

I continually here all my buddies at work say the same thing, "America the great, we will never fall," and actually I tend to agree with them. I don't believe we will ever fall, but I do believe our dollar will. Our dollar is simply a ploy to steal from other countries, and because we are so powerful, I believe we will keep doing so until no one will except our dollar, then we will move on to something else. It really is worth it for the U.S. to keep doing what we're doing, simply because we gain so many valuable things from it.

It's the sheer size of the U.S. ego mixed with an inability to pay anything off that will insure the gradual increase until eventual destruction.

Interesting POV, I was thinking the other day that since our USD are not backed by anything, in fact they kind of are. They are backed by our military superiority. Countries are afraid of us, we just have too much advanced technology plus the use of satellites.

Now, I know Russia has their own plane that is suppose to be equivalent to our F-22 raptor. But how many do they have? So even though other countries may show off something of substance, I don't believe they have all that much to make the US scared.

As someone said earlier, the war is economical now, it's the only way the other countries can sit at the adult table with the U.S. And the U.S. is doing a good job inviting those guests to the table with all their printing...

sure, quartz crystals and high-class silica can be 'melted' (or fused) to create lenses, glass(es), and such. ;) :D

I was actually reflecting back on an earlier poster's comments about the US Military strength....there is a lot of melted sand out in White Sands :)
