I wonder if there's any programmers on this board that can donate some time into making one? LOL... I am a PHP programmer, not a C++ developer, but I would have loved to be able to make a Windows gadget. I can probably help and make a module for the side bar here that routinely connects to kitco or some other site and get updates. But I'm still new here and probably not very trustworthy yet...
Look out wannabe gold collectors and look ahead present day collectors gold is finally gonna be where it should be in price!! http://www.thestreet.com/story/10628365/1/gold-prices-soar.html
Interesting. The article states that the US has 75% gold. Does anyone know if that's US owned gold, or just gold that they are holding for other countries?
The article says "India now has 6% of its reserves in gold compared to the U.S. and Portugal which have 75% and 90% respectively." so I would interpret that to mean that 75% of the US's reserves are in GOLD. In celebration of GLD's anniversary, it was mentioned that they are the 6th largest holders of gold and that 50lbs of gold is a million$. Now thats 50 lbs I wouldn't mind gaining!
Gold to hit $1400 by the end of the year. http://www.cnbc.com/id/34010551 CNBC's Slideshow on who holds the most gold
Some people have even said $15K an ounce. There was a history channel episode on gold a couple months ago. I didn't realize there were so little gold out there. If you take all the gold in the world, it only takes up the same amount of space as the platform that holds the statue of liberty.
They air that Gold documentary every time gold hits new yearly highs. It's at least 2 years old, not a new piece. And that is a big gold platform for a copper statue! It's all BULL-ion  ABC News Nightline did a segment called Gold Fever this week 11/18/09. (YouTube link)
Oh i see, I didn't realize that. It's an ok documentary anyways, wish they discussed more about gold and its history rather than follow an old cowboy looking for gold...
that is amazing krispy. but never sell your gold jewelry unless you really need money. and no other way for substitution. you gonna lose a lot when selling them. first you lose the costly labor currently price at. then the few % below bullion price. lastly, if you going to buy a new one. they charge you a lot on mark up and labor fee again. the $11,000.00 that this guy is selling. i predict he lose $4,000.00. mostly labor.
I agree the cowboy segment was filler, but i liked the guys in the jungle, despite the destruction to the environment there and harm to their health using raw mercury like that.
No worries. I don't really have any jewelry. I don't wear it and don't buy it. I have been lucky enough to find a piece or two from time to time, not metal detecting, just found on the ground. I would have no trouble cashing that in but there's not much of it to be worth doing. :smile
Same with you. I don't have any gold jewelry, other than one gold necklace I got a long time ago. About 15 years ago I think. But even then I rarely worn it. I don't like wearing any jewelry of any kind. Heck I don't even own a watch since my phone has the time on it.
end of this month should see gold pass over $1,200.00 an ounce. prepare next year for $1,500.00 or more.
I completely agree with you Elaine. 5 bucks per day for the next 10 days. Piece of cake. I can't foresee anything stopping it all the way to $1500.
All the silver bars and copper bars I bought a year ago are sailing right along too. I wish I had some big bars of gold as big as some of my copper ones. Even my grandkids would be set for life!
