Hi I have this 3oz engelhard bar and been searching online and not to much info, was wondering if anybody knows the year made ? Mintage ? and value? Thanks in advance
I would say it could be around a $100 or more value during these times.Mintage?doesn't matter its a silver bar lol and looks old.
When you go to sell it will be treated as the bullion that it is. I doubt the name or a mintage will figure into it unless you can find info that says otherwise. You may find the right buyer who will pay a small premium for the name or mintage, but right now it is worth $25.58 per ounce, silver ask price close of business 14 April 21, (times 3 = $76.74 )...jmho...Spark
There is little silver to be had for less than $30 an oz right now. Englehard bars have some collectors after them so I'd bet it's worth more then $100 in the current market. Not much more though.
Looks like a 2nd series 3oz ingot. North of <250 mintage. Nice premium could be had if you find the right buyer. BE AWARE there are a ton of counterfeit 3.000 bars. Best the contact allengelhard for verification.
What rte and spirityoda said. When I was still at the coin shop we sold a 7 ounce bar on ebay. It went for really stupid money but the boss was happy.
Send an email over to Engelhard and see what they say about mintage, they may answer you or ignore you but it's always best to go to the source! As far as value, that would be a hard guess as many stackers collect 3 oz. bars and they always seem to carry ridiculous sales prices.
Check here on Ebay. link: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1313&_nkw=3+oz&_sacat=39487 Has a few 3 ozer's. Big money.
Thanks for all the help, here is was allengelhard said, All Engelhard <allengelhard@gmail.com> To:frank komsisky Thu, Apr 15 at 8:17 PM very nice example Frank, it certainly does appear to be authentic by the stampings and the mould pour. Mintage is estimated at <250, with likely few survivors on these old top logo ingots. Hope this helps. AE
