I think all of the future economic uncertainties (i.e., dealing with an annual deficit of $1.4 trillion) makes us all think this pony has just now got some legs. I think there is some validity to the reasoning that a major move upward is unprecedented (unless the Hunt's are back at it again)....At the same time, one can't help from feeling that we are at an inflection point in American History and seem to be headed towards the less fiscally responsible.

Will there be a course correction before its too late?

+1!!! makes me want to order a few more!
Gotta pace myself and get those fractionals, just cant decide if I should buy now or wait... hard to tell if this HUGE boom they are in right now will stick around or not, what do you all think. Buy fractional buffs now or wait for market to fall some.... or will the market fall some?

thats CRAZY! I had my order in by about 12:15. the absolute first second the mint would allow you to add it to the cart. I was in the first 1000 orders and I seem to have gotten mine day one that you could have. just nuts to think that 10 min could make the difference between delivery a week ago and not even shipped yet.

thanks boxerchip. i think the 2009 buffalo proof mintage will continue to rise due to gold keep moving upward. or else the mintage might be consider high. but like the UHR double eagle. its mintage at 103,764. these two gold coins were very popular. so it won't affect the price to go down.

Oh oh ....... Krispy better watch out! LOL! ;)

I broke down tonight and bough it. I had been saving up for months and figured this was a good a time as any. It just hurts a bit to work for months to save up that money and then one click of the mouse button and it is gone in a second! The est. ship date is Novemeber 19th.

How often do where hear on CT or other places how people are just going to wait and buy these coins on the secondary market when the price drops??? We hear it all the time. But the question that I pose is will people sell these coins for a loss? Unless gold just tanks which I doubt that it will do....who in their right minds would sell the proof buff for less than they bought it. It is not that often that you see that. I think the market value is now established and it is highly unlikely that you will see these coins for much less.... and I say much less because these could drop in price, but the $50 that it drops isn't going to make much of a difference.

The only exception I think to this rule is the 2007 APE 10th Anniversary set. THe price of platinum tanked a few months after this coin came out and a bunch of people bought the set thinking that they could flip it for a quick buck like the ASE and AGE sets that came out the year before. The mint decided to lower their price and a whole bunch of buyers bought up the coins at the lower price only to resell at a price much lower than the original price, but still high enough to make some money. It is for this reason that I still have mine and I am glad that I do, but I hate for it to have been under those circumstances.

The reason that I mention all this is because it looks as though the mint will most definitely raise the price of these coins tomorrow and we are nearly halfway through the month. This leaves about 50 days or so before the end of the year and probably less for the sale of this coin. I think that if you are on the edge of buying this coin that now is the time to jump. You are not going to see if for much less than this and if this coin keeps a mintage of less than 30k, we may see a large price bump on the secondary market that will definitely price this coin several hundred dollars or more above the original price. Have you seen where the 08Ws are priced!!! WOW!

jaceravone. please don't get jeolous. i love you all. specially the coin collectors.

here are some latest data for you.
    bullion buffalo:
    2006 - 337,012
    2007 - 136,503
    2008 - 214,058
    2009 - 132,000 - not final

2009 mintage will surpass the 2007 figure. since 2007 is traded near bullion value. i see 2009 bullion buffalo as well.

    proof buffalo:
    2006w - 246,267
    2007w - 58,998
    2008w - 19,591
    2009w - 27,955 - not final

it look like the 2009 proof buffalo could hit 2007w figure. let's hope the mint will stop selling them soon. since 2007w is also traded a small premium. i hope 2009w will not. a mintage below 40,000 for 2009 buffalo proof is consider good. but again. i think it will pass this number.

It only took them 10 days to break last years total sales.
I was kinda hoping it wouldn't go over 25,000. Not that I don't want anybody here to get theirs, I was just hoping the sales would be low again. But after everyone sees the '08 proofs selling for over $2,000, I guess I shoulda figured.
Oh well, gold is gonna just keep inching up further and further, and I don't think it will ever come back down again. At least not for many, many years, or until 12/21/2012 if you believe that stuff.
