No. Economy is too weak, unemployment too high, and othe cheaper bullion options available. This is collector driven with the big boys buying inventory for the future believing this will be low mintage.

I kind of agree with Elaine the mintage numbers are much too high for my taste! The coin is beautiful but I think it would have been far better for collectors if the mint would have limited this coins mintage's. I guess I would consider buying this coin in a PCGS 70 holder. but who knows the future.I wish they had done like they did with the platiumum coins with mintage's well below 7,000 JMO

They ship bullion coins in rolls? How do they not get damaged?

Mint rolls are designed to protect the coins they are not made of paper they are heavy plastic and when the cap is on they stay tight in the roll.
Both the Silver eagles and Gold eagles as well as the platiumum eagles are in these type of tubes
you can see what the tubes look like on the AMPEX websight

Ahh but bullion coins and "uncirculated commems" are actually matte proofs...and in some ways a matte proof is more beautiful than a mirror proof IMO

bull sit :( my plan has failed. I sold those half dollars to apmex and figured my driver usually delivers around 2-3pm, so I left my house at 10am to mail the coins to apmex, and open the store I run, then I was going to run home to wait for the package. I got to work (really late because I had to wrap that stupid package in brown tape for registered mail) and check the status of my delivery only to find the ONE DAY I leave in the AM: 10:15AM
THE RECEIVER WAS UNAVAILABLE TO SIGN ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT. A 2ND DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE

:crying::crying: now I must wait, I hate waiting.

Gold heads to $1,100; hits fresh record

Central banks in China, Russia and other major emerging markets have indicated "interest in building their holdings of gold as part of their diversification away from the U.S. dollar," said Nicholas Brooks, head of Research and Investment Strategy at ETF Securities.

but if yankee keeps dumping the gold. what will be the price of gold in the future?.
