this one is to close for me to call. any help? thanks--BILL have to put pics up 1 at a time there are 3 total-- really dont see anything on the date
I don't think so from the pic. Maybe a larger closer one? Does not match anything in the CherryPicker's yet
Post a pic of LIBERTY, looks like it could be master die doubling... Here's a picture of '72 master die doubling:
Yep. Master die doubling which is actually bolder than a few of the reguar DDOs for the date. It is present on between 50-60% of all '72 Lincolns but not present on DDOs 1-8. Compare your coin to my pics and you'll hopefully see the same doubling. The bold cross on the T in LIBERTY, for me, is the easiest way to double check if it comes from an earlier hub or later hub with doubling. There is also a die gouge in the S of TRUST that is often present on master die doubled examples.
I agree, MDD. I have kept several of these, because they were found in MS-60 or better. I think they are very bold and all devices stand out.
Jason correct about Master die doubling :thumb: that what Potter & Wexler wrote in this weeks coin world
Well in this case since I am abbreviating Master Die Doubling and it was used in the post above it, I think everyone knows what I mean. :thumb: And we don't need the abbreviation list again, thank you.
