now the gold reached a low at $1,034.40 an ounce. i even thinking of buying the 09 buffalo proof at $1,260.00 right now. last time i bought gold. the average London gold price is $950.00 to $999.99. that's the highest i pay for gold. to buy 09 buffalo proof at $1,360.00. the average price gold is $1,050.00 to $1,099.99. think about it. will it be too expensive?. better not rush to buy from it. maybe just pass this one.

Yes, you can send large amounts at once. It will be expensive and take quite some, weeks to 2-3 months even, to get back but probably better to do in large amounts if you can part with the coins that long.

The TPGs take what you submit and handle them very carefully with their own inventory system that uniquely identifies your coins submitted. They do not switch them, if I understand you correctly.

This is a link to the PCGS Submission / grading process, a video you can watch.

That would be a very good thing to do before sending the coins out. Good for insurance purposes as well should the items be lost in transit an you needed to file a claim with the carrier. I always photograph my coins for insurance purposes or to use as evidence of what I owned in case of thefts. I have also made before and after photos when submitting coins for grading.

Some TPGs have an inventory form to fill out for submissions, or you need to submit a list of items and the coins value, etc. Sending an inventory is good to do so you have an exact list that matches what you submitted to them. It's good for your records too. I highly suggest maintaining inventory lists, especially with the amount of coins and high value coins that you buy.

Depends on the shipping service you use. Express Mail or the various FedEx, UPS or DHL expedited services usually offer next day, 2-day, 3-day... you have to choose which one protects your valuables and insure the parcel accordingly.

Here are some links to TPG submission pages with details on HOW TO and Prices:

    NGC Services/Fee structure

Hope this helps point you in the right direction if you are considering submitting some of your coins for grading.

It's a civil servant type job... like being a postal worker (LOL!)
But if you'd get Ed Moy's job you might get to cherrypick some sweet coins!

thank you very much krispy. it is very clear. but we have to do a lot of work. wow. i better just sell it at e-bay. talking about e-bay. those questions. if you can. give me more knowledge and detail about it.

Actually, eBay is a lot of work. You have to take good photos and deal with customers, plus the high costs of: insurance, shipping, eBay listing and Final Auction Value fees, PayPal fees, possible returns, relisting the item again if returned. Lots of issues.

Consider also Heritage Auctions and TeleTrade amongst others. With TT you can submit your coins ungraded, they have a service which will have the coins graded with the top TPGs then list your coins in lots in their upcoming online auctions. The auction houses take a commission of course but it could save you a lot of time and effort listing on eBay.

I don't mind the jokes, it keeps things fun around here! I don't know enough to be an expert but I have been buying/trading/selling bullion and collectible coins for many years. plus I have some experience submitting coins for grading. I'm just glad to be able to share some general information as you share a lot of estimates and figures all the time with us. thanks.

LETS SAY GOLD STAYS LOW AND THE 2009-W BUFFALOS DROP TO $1310.

If everybody cancels next Thursday due to the $50 drop that would be a $750,000 loss.........LETS DO IT !!!!!!!!!......

.... dono about you all but my order is past the stage where it can be canceled.

Anyone know why some PCGS buffalos have the sweet buffalo image on the slab and others dont? Is this an option that can be added on or something?

The Buffalos are for the PCGS special "authorized dealers" only.
The rest of us get the flags.

Does that mean if I go though a dealer I can get the buffalo and not that damn flag?

I'd rather not risk it getting sold out than saving $100 bucks.
