american buffalo one ounce gold proof usually offered by the middle of each year. if this is correct. then the 2010w buffalo will be offered by middle of next year. and the 2009w buffalo will certainly continue to that date. unless the mint imposed a cut off date or declare sell out. we should see the 09w buffalo sell more than 2008w easily. next is to catch the 2007w 60,000 strong. i wish the mint will surprise us.

sometimes it's not what the figures say that make one or the other coin better, it's what is attractive and appealing to the collectors eye. No logic or rationalizing in that, just pure love of a certain design that resonates with you. Unfortunately the Gold UHR and AGB both attract me, ;) even more so than the AGEs.

yes. that's true. i hate the reverse of AGE. the family eagle thing. i like the reverse of old $20.00 liberty gold dollar eagle.

if the 09 AGB are fractional. i would have to buy a lot. i don't like one ounce gold. that's why i only have few AGE and no AGB one ounce coin. one ounce gold most likely to trade near bullion value. do you agree krispy?.

I do mostly agree but I like all sizes of gold coins except for the 1/10th diameter.

I feel that Proof AGBs will likely stay above bullion prices by at least $100 or more depending on the mintage of Proofs AGB, yet to be determined.

yes. i hate 1/10 oz too. unfortunately. the 08w AGB 1/10 oz & 1/4 oz both proof and unc. price went up significantly. i only have 30 pc 1/2 proof and few unc. i also have a lot of 08w AGE 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz. which also up its prices but not as great as AGB.

Maybe you should sell off a couple of the larger gold pieces to buy the 1/10th 08-W's so that your collection of them is more complete. Though I understand the small size isn't of interest.

no way. i really hate 1/10 oz even i know the price of 08w both AGE and AGB will go up. i remembered i cancelled 50 pc of the 2006w 1/10 oz AGE.

pre-sale NGC proof70 early release got six trades at e-bay. average price at $2,500.00. that's mean at the early stage. the proof69 or raw 09w buffalo proof might go at e-bay for $1,800.00 to $2,000.00 range. cost at u.s.mint is $1,360.00 each. the nice box can be sell for $40.00 to $50.00. your cost will go down to $1,310.00 to $1,320.00.

I really think the suggestion to purchase the 1/10 oz coins is very wise. When the S--T hits the fan 1/10 oz coins will be much more negotiable the the 1 oz coins. Even with the premiums they will pay there way.

Well, if WTSHTF is the only reasoning, then it would be smarter to buy 1/10 bullion with less or no numismatic value. I was suggesting that elaine acquire these pieces to complete a collection that will continue to raise in value at the expense of one or two larger gold pieces, despite the distaste for the smallest diameter coin of this series.

By all means, if her collection needs the fractional gold W mint coins she should aquire them now regardless of the premium. They will gain in mumistmatic value as well as monetary worth.

now my plan for proof buffalo is reducing it from 10 to 2. but one of my friends will still buy 10 anyway.

is 2009w am. buffalo different from the rest of 2006w-08w buffaloes?.

2009w american buffalo is a matte finish proof. a fine granula surface.

    2006w-08w american buffalo is a mirror-like proof.

note: if this is just a one time and a different variety compared to previous issues. then this one is a special one.

i remember 1998s john f. kennedy silver half dollar also have a matte finish proof.

I like granola! ;) ...And I think this is a special AGB Proof feature that you pointed out which may be unique to the AGB series, especially if the program doesn't get produced in 2010. Anything could happen.
