When was the UHR last selling from the Mint at $1,439? I thought the recent UHR for $1,389 was the high point of the year so far.

A Mint repricing tomorrow would be the first time the coin lists for $1,439 from the Mint, correct?

yes. that is correct. it look like $1,100.00 and above might be reach. then the price will $1,489.00 and/or above.

Thanks. Yes, I think we will see repricing of the Mint tomorrow. However, I'm still not confident that we can see $1100 spot during this week. Although we never know what it can do and it doesn't take much right now to do that.

krispy: if gold pass $1,100.00 and stay there for a while. then it will affect the buffaloes $ the eagles. look at these prices:

    UHR double eagle - 1,489.00
    spouse gold proof - $729.00
    spouse gold unc - $716.00
    am buffalo 1 oz prf - 1,410.00
am eagle platinum 1 oz prf - $1,792.00

Thanks elaine. I sure hope the '09 Buffalo would be a bit less than this but the higher price might give some buyers the chance at it while reducing the opportunity for those not willing to pay these amounts.

BTW, look who came to see me today:

Joe, it's stupendous! Lives up to your reviews and urgings as well. It is rather deceptive in hand, feeling the full ounce in such a small/compact size. The size doesn't bother me as it does for some. The box and all it's trappings are nice but a bit overkill. I was surprised the book was not able to be stowed inside the box and there seems to be empty space in the bottom of the case (hollow) as it's proportionally built up to stabilize the case. Such a tremendous piece.

    Chris,
Didn't you know thats the extra space needed to turn it into a jewlery box? This is why they are going for so much on ebay! ;):p

I have been waiting to see if you had any change of heart about the box after you actually had it in your hands.

I'll go all in and say $1075.

Elaine, didn't you have the UHR on order a long time ago and cancelled it?

Hey Chuck, thanks for the note. I think the box is quite luscious(!) but for just one coin it's really a lot of material. IF (a BIG, IF) the UHR gold coin is created in 2010 or at any other time in the future, I wonder if the book will again be included? And as for the case and it's dimensions, IF the 2 pc. UHR gold & palladium coins are ever produced and sold, the moveable mounting panel that the UHR coin is nested in, may be big enough to fit both coins, side by side, so that the overall case doesn't get any larger for the two piece set. I hope this was foresight on behalf of the cases Designers to optimizing the packaging of UHRs "IF" going forward we see more produced. I would still like to have the opportunity when ordering to opt for either the 'deluxe' case, as it currently is sold with, and to have an option of getting the coin with COA in just a simple velvet Mint box for a few dollars less, instead.

elaine: Yes, UHR is a big temptress! ...and I'm sorry that you didn't pick even one up, yet, but you can always get them later since there are so many minted. ;) If you have a whole table full of FS coins arrive, I'd love to see a picture of that haul when they come in. Please post a shot, even if you just have a cellphone camera.

I totally agree. I am always for choice, although I would still probably opt for the nice OGP the UHR came with. Plus if everyone had a choice, many would opt for a velvet box, making the nice packaging worth even more. I have a few slabbed gold coins because I was able to pick them up for a great price, but I prefer everything in OGP.
The thing that upsets me more than anything right now is the fact that they will not produce the ASE & AGE proofs for 2009. It seems to ruin the collections idea. I'm getting off topic, but they should have shut down the bullion and produced some proofs, even if in limited quantity. Charge an extra $250 or whatever, but don't just shut down production completely.

I agree the US Mint really needs to release the items recently listed will not be and those on the TBD, I hope we at least see those. Chuck are going to get the Proof Buffalo if that is released?

LOL! You are so crazy elaine!, but I bet you could clean them out if anyone could!

Yes, I saw the newly repriced UHR @ $1439 Honestly, one from the Mint is enough for me and at a later date I will get a TPG UHR as I've planned for two in my collection all along. Now my sites are set on the 09 Proof Buffalo.

09 buffalo proof should have come out earlier this year. so we can buy it cheaper and buy it more. now we don't even know how much it will cost us. i think it will be much higher. since gold might be go up over $1,100.00.
