cheer along with me on the silver spike down!

I very much agree with cloudsweeper (and the steady advice and admonishments cloud gives throughout the bullion investing forums) that the price of silver is still at a level which those interested should continue to be buying at and consider that on any down days we experience, it is a discount that you should welcome, especially by taking action, demonstrating by being committed to and actually making a purchase of more ounces. :hail:

If the folks cheering the 'spike down' want to be in that boat loaded with silver, now is (still) the time to be gathering the cargo, even by one ounce at a time if that's your budget, and you will be that much closer to being stocked up for the time when silver is twice or three times as much as it is currently. Then you can proclaim your foresight instead of cheering or praying for a lower price point for which few who regularly complain the price have demonstrated by voicing any claims to purchases.

It's senseless to fill up these threads about what one would have done or wanted to do if not for (fill in the blank) having happening... It sounds harsh to say like this and everyone should first consider their finances, debt and safety net of funds before making certain investments, but seriously 'put up or shut up' because buying-action in this matter speaks louder than words. Those doing the buying don't have a lot of time for words, forums and cheering or bemoaning some situation while organizing a purchase of PMs or taking receipt of them.

I mean no disrespect to anyone by this reply , but seriously really consider the price and factors governing where we are currently at as well as what you're saying about your intentions to buy/invest in PMs. If you can't buy at this time it is not the end of the world but this virtual venting also won't make any one suddenly more capable of obtaining PMs either. :thumb:

    Personal computers maybe.

Kitco posts a Reuter's article about today's price declines...

    http://www.reuters.com/article/usDollarRpt/idUSN2453218020090924?rpc=401&

The article essentially says that the fall in prices today was due to "weaker-than-expected housing data" and the failure to break above the $1020 resistance level.

Personally, I expect a consolidation phase followed by a new test of the highs...I don't believe the dollar fundamentals have changed much.

Check out this video of the Tennessee "fainting" goats (friggin' hilarious! :D)

I think we have a "fainting" commodities market.

I'm not an idiot...I don't expect silver to ever hit $8/oz...I was giving that as an example not everyone is rich and can afford to buy as much silver as they want which is why I am still left wanting more...I do hope that silver will hit the $12 mark but I will not hold my breath on that either I'm just going to keep buying silver and hope it goes down more and more so I can get more bang for my bucks

Haven't seen/thought about those hilarious goats in some time, what a great thing to see again! Thanks for the reminder and a very apt commodities commentary too.

I too dont like the resent plunge in the gold price! I guess we will have to hold on to our gold for next year when the price again goes over $1000. I have 45% of my savings tied up in silver and gold and cant even think of selling at the low prices that look like are coming. I guess I am lucky all our debt in this family is paid off including our home. My wife and I have good jobs and lots of cash savings to ride it out. I am sure someday the gold price will rise to new heights never before seen. I just feel bad for those that will have to sell their gold and silver at a loss!. I am sure someday everyone that holds gold and silver will greatly profit. I am quite sure these new high prices will happen in our liftime. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Plunge??? What plunge? Gold is about 2%-3% lower than its recent high closing price. Are you sure you are psycologically well-suited to holding gold if a 2% move rattles you?

I don't think he is well-suited to spell recent correctly. ;-)

I just consider these things typos. I usually post messages without proofreading them for spelling and grammer. It's no big deal in informal communication.

As gold and silver tanked over the last 2 days - what happened to the US Dollar?

Agreed. No need for spelling police, I know what the poster means anyways.

But just for FYI, it's grammar, not grammer. :goofer::goofer:

Peter Schiff had a recent vlog on yesterday's gold/us dollar stuff.

Also, isn't it also due to the feds keeping the interest rates the same?

But it is only a matter of time when they can't do that, and China/Japan says no more T-bills....

Then that's when PMs shoot to the moon!!

But what do I know, I'm new to all this.... :rolling:

The Fed can keep rates at zero forever if they ignore the secondary effects on the currency. If China won't buy treasuries, the Fed will buy them. Gold generally rises when real interest rates are negative, or when there is social unrest, or when speculators decide to push the up button. It seems almost a certainty that the economy will undergo a serious deflation at some point in the future because it seems likely that a good part of the outstanding debt [public and private] will have to be defaulted on. The thing gold investors have to figure out is whether there will be serious inflation first. Right now that looks probable.

About a month ago when silver was in the mid $12.00 range I stocked up on about 30 oz of eagles, philharmonics, and maple leafs ten of each they all look really nice, plus my other stash of 90% coins and bullion items, and a wee bit of gold. Forget the money and investment aspect. The stuff is just cool to look at and hold. Way better than boring paper money.

if it's ok for me to post without krispy or cloud tearing into me

I made this post as "YAY! silver is slipping down and so let's hope it keeps dropping" I understand that simply cheering for it to go down does absolutely nothing to the price. I'm sorry if anyone thought that I think it will force it to go down. But when your watching a football game at home and cheer when your team scores a TD in the last few minutes and YELL OUT YES!!. Does that make you a moron or just excited about it? I just felt talking about silver declining in price and figured someone would eventually post a reason why...

again I'm sorry for posting because I was excited I will try to limit my posting to most likely only responses and hope I can cut out the excitement if I do make a future threads

If the spot price drops....silver will just become"unavailable" or will have increased premiums. sure, there will be sales here and there but you better be on top of it to get your Ag. Buy now as often as you can afford it.....anything under $20 is a dang good bargain.

These type of posts bewilder me....:smile
