You're displaying the Colorized Clad Half Dollar, not the NBA Hall of Fame Proof Dollar.

I have no interest in colored coins. They take away from the natural beauty of the coin and add no significant value to them in my opinion.

DITTO. The coins are GIMMICKS pure and simple and of course our illustrious leaders are authorizing the mint to make them.
    stay safe.

its a shame so many people feel the need to come in and trash something someone else likes when all they were asking was for pictures

I have to agree. I dislike gimmicky shapes like guitars and such, and do not like coins colored post mint, (meaning enamel or whatever not toning), but I agree whatever floats your boat. It might get kids more interested having brighter colors.

If it is minted that way its ok. Like I said, weird shapes, (not number of sides, since plenty of multisided coins have been issued) and add-ons like gems I am not a fan of, color from the mint was the mints choice. If you do not like it don't collect them, like any other coin.

In short, what I say to colorized coin collectors? Welcome and I am very happy you enjoy the hobby. Glad to have you here. :) I hope you find many coins you love and continue to collect for decades.

Exactly. It’s one thing if someone asks for an opinion on something, but if they just want to see some no reason to come and rain on the parade. There’s a lot of really cool concepts with some of them that are out there as well. There’s plenty of classic series I don’t care for at all like Morgan’s so I just go right on by those threads when people are enjoying sharing their love of them.

If anything people should be happy things like colorized coins exist spreading out collector interests. If everyone liked the same thing only the ultra rich would be able to afford them

I know right? I have never understood the attraction for Morgans, but usually just refrain from saying that since so many like them. Hey, great for them, and I love their enthusiasm. I know large amounts of my collection would be of no interest to most collectors here, and I am THRILLED about that. If 10 more collectors got interested in them it would seriously destroy the market for me since they are so rare.

Every coin deserves to be collected, and for every coin there is a deserving owner.

Btw @baseball21 I am very happy we agree on this. I know you and I have some very different opinions on some things, and I can be hard-headed, but love to see we both appreciate and support all collectors here.

Exactly. Ive never understood the point of tearing down what others collect. Everyone likes different things. If they want to collect holed or details coins since they're cheaper by all means go for it. The only thing I've always said is that people should just be aware of how the market treats what they like but other than they should go for whatever they like regardless of others opinions. I used to joke that other people can tell me what and how to collect they day they want to start footing the bills for the coins

People can collect anything they want. I wasn't trying to trash anything. I was stating a fact. They will never go up in value because they are impaired. If that doesn't concern the person collecting them, then good for them! I'm just not going to invest in something that will never show a return.

First they aren’t impaired, they’re supposed to be that way. Next yes some do go up in value. And most importantly collecting and investing are two DRASTICALLY different things
