I finally just got around to taking pics of this baby. I thought I had taken pics before, but if I remember correctly, they were so bad that I deleted them. THese were taken in my photo box, but i didn't have time to set up the surround lights and the only light source was the 6ft florescent light about 10ft above. I wish you all could have seen the pics I took without the photobox, but I deleted them already, but trust me, they were bad. These aren't the best, but still a huge improvement over what they used to look like. Enjoy.

Sweet! Gotta get one of those myself asap. I love that they are using Roman numeral dates on these like the early AGEs had.

Elaine, I would be happy to, but I sold all my AGE last year. So if you have some pics that you would like to email me, just send me an email though Coin Talk. Not a PM, but an email which you have the option of choosing on my profile.

I would have bought one but I wanted to see what the mintage was going to be before I took the plunge. It will be interesting to see how the mintage rises when they increase the order limit from 1 to 10. I think the mintage will be over 100K by the end of Sept.

I could care less what the mintage turns out to be. I bought one because I wanted one. I never had any intention to flip it and profit by that....just pure collectability in a word. I may have paid an excessive price over melt but I wasn't looking at intrinsic value. The collector value IMHO is far superior....:smile

UHR double eagle is a bullion coin. after mint ending the offer. the price should go down to around $900.00.

I wasnt saying that I was trying to flip it for a profit. IMO the more they make the more value they lose. The reason I said I was waiting is because if they go over 100K, they will most likely being selling on eBay for under mint price. I was waiting to get one grade by NGC (MS69) for under mint price. I still want one but I am waiting for the demand to decrease.

i see spouses gold better UHR double eagle. even the 20,000 high mintage that six gold coins hold. those number is still better than 70,000 to 100,000 UHR gold.

And you're probably right. How many times have I bought stuff from the mint, that over the period of a few years, diminished in price (LOL). I guess you could say that I don't have the patience to wait for these items in the aftermarket. That, and the possibility, of a product becoming only available at a premium well above the original mint selling price. Remember the ASE 20th anniversary set? Glad I ordered that from the mint and didn't wait for it to appear in dealers stocks.... :smile

Yes I remember but that was a different animal as it was said that there was a limit to 250K. I think the price has a big thing to do with it also, there a lots of collectors that was willing to pay $100 but homw many were willing to pay the $1189 for the double eagle.

9 times out of 10 you will come out ahead if you sit back and wait.

Price of gold precludes a lot of collectors from buying....

    Just because

Pride of owner ship does creep into the picture.
I have not seen a spouse coin which competes in overall
looks and design with the UHR. The reverse on some are where the art is IMHO .
Like fine dinning , the presentation makes the food that is very good and a great setting makes it a memorable experience.
I own both of these coins and a 100,000 UHRs will not go far in a world market.
The spouse coins could have some that will be good in the long term but interest in American Presidents is an item of interest but their wives sans a few were not as great an interest world wide. A couple ran the country for one reason or another and have stories of interest .
I do not think one will have to look so deep to find interest in the UHR, but time will with all, will decide.
