I purposely collect all 69s if I can. Why waste the money on a 70. I compared my 2006 MS69 with my 2007 MS70. Can you see any difference? Obviously the pics are much better on the 2007, but can you really see any difference? Any flaws? In hand, I can't. I bet if I sent this in to NGC it would come back a 70. I could crack it out and send it back to PCGS and possibly have it come back a 70. With modern coins, there is such a fine line between 69 and 70.
Well, I'm thinking about getting my first buffalo in a few months $5, tenth ounce of course... At this point, I don't care NGC or PCGS... I don't want the proof I want a MS70... But if the price is right on a 69.... Lowest I've seen a MS70 NGC for, right now is $359, which is alright by me... And the PCGS MS70 First Strikes, jeez those flukes go for $620 and more, and $200 for a 69..Doesn't make sense to me. I'd rather have NGC MS70 for $300 cheaper.
Travis, don't buy into that FirstStrike BS. I never bought into it. My 2006 Buffalo is a First Strike, but I bought it for a steal. I think everyone took a ebay break that day, because what i got it for was a crime. Some people are willing to pay more for a First Strike or Early Strike, when even the mint says on their website that there is no possible way to know because many times the coins are all grouped together as they come off the press. Then there is the question about die life and how does that factor into the First Strikes.... don't get me started. :computer: But the point I am trying to make is that you can clearly see how you can save $160 just by dropping down a grade......which may or may not be a MS70 on any given Sunday. Unless you are putting together a registry set where grade matters, then don't waste your money. Get the 69 and take your "extra" money and buy something else. Just my personal opinion.
Oh believe me, I don't, and never will be into the FS $12 label, nonsense... Just me, I want the MS70, and I don't want to settle, you know... I want the best... But the MS69 can save me money, and I honestly can't tell the difference... So I might get the MS69, if I can save money... MS70 For $359 is pretty good If I can get an NGC MS69 for under $300, SHOW ME WHERE (Just looked on ebay, one at $280 with 10 minutes left...Oh boy, wish I had some dough!) So I might go for that 69...
Now Im not going to say that there are some 69s that frankly should be 67s, but you don't see those too much, especially on US coins. I see more foreign coins that are graded by PCGS and NGC that should probably have graded a 68, but had 69 or 70 on them. For example the last Chinese Panda I bought was NGC MS69. Probably should go for a 68, but I also bought it for 67 prices if you know what I mean. Gotta look for those deals..... and of course make sure you have the money to pounce on them! :eat: Remember...buy the coin, not the slab, except if you buy it off ebay, then you have to buy the slab.
Thats the way to start off...........:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb: I agree about the FS meaning "JACK SQUAT"....except if you're selling them.....:bow::bow::bow::bow:
YEP FS ER Doesn't matter what label, it is all bogus... Unless you were lucky enough to buy them raw, get em' graded, get them back with this $12 label..Then you are looking at premiums, that people are willing to pay for the same coin, but just in a different POPULATION... In my opinion, you are getting the same coin! If you took them out, there is no difference... (Not really opinion, more of a fact!)
Nice try Bruce and T..... but, I will be more than happy to buy both these coins off you guys for bullion value.
LOL! YOU SO WISH!!! I wish I could have bought them near bullion, but near wholesale is good enough for me!
Some silver bullion New Zealand Kiwi dollars: From 2004 to 2008, the Perth Mint issued a proof and bullion silver dollar depicting an endangered Kiwi. These sold out quickly every year. Because of the low mintages (I guess) they cost much more than the Kookaburras. Here are mine from 2004-2007:
Those are beautiful I love birds, watching birds, learning about birds, and those coins are really neat! Thanks for sharing!
