Wish me luck. I picked these up from my LCS on Saturday. Couldn't pass them up for 2 cents a piece. The bag of 63's was already opened and looking at the beautiful reds on top, with a flash of some toning. I am pretty exited. So, far I have scanned about 3 dollars worth of them. They for the most part have some pretty neat die polishing, which is one of the pick ups for a few of the 7 DDO's for the year. I will update this thread as I find anything interesting.
So far I have what looks like evidence of a polished out clash of some sort, I will keep looking. Also pretty exited to find some other type of errors.
When you do post, please title it as a 2021 search because two years from now, I will have forgotten this post. LOL It would probably take me that long at least.
I will update this thread with most of them unless it is a major. I will have to take a photo in a bit. found a small little cud going from rim and covering part of the U in trust.
I forgot to say that the open bag was 1963 Philly, The next bag I opened because I got temporarily bored was 1971D. This bag is mostly so far full of coins that are heavily abraded because of a counter clash. This is one of them. But not the strongest example. You can see evidence of the memorial pillars above the date and some evidence above and below Liberty.
Yes, in 1965 when they stopped the MM's on all denominations, you have to reme3mber that the coin albums were printed years in advance, so you had a 1965 D space in Lincoln cent albums. So, the "double Dot' Reverse was found and claimed to be from Denver. I found one at the time. No idea where it is today.
I'm with you. It would take me months to get through those. I have $50 Unc rolls that I haven't touched since I bought them 4 months ago. I need to invest in some serious coin-time! Have fun with those!!
I thought the dates were mixed. The 1965 double dot, here is an earlier thread: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/what-does-double-dot-mean.309297/page-3
Thank you for the thread, Now I have another die gouge to look for. LOL Seems the hype was just as fervent as it is today.
Not, the best photos, this has a raised lower bar on the L of Liberty, it is one of the DDO's but I am having a hard time getting clear photos for ya"ll. What I have noticed is a whole bunch of doubled eyes in the bag. But I don't consider them a major.
