Awesome. Thank you. I am going to try that now with you. Let me know if it works.

That's it! As you type a drop down will pop up so you can pick the name faster.

What happens when I tag someone? Do they just get a message letting them know that they have been tagged? Sorry, Newby here. Lol

They will receive a notification on the upper right of the screen under "alerts" for a regular note or under "inbox" if a private message. It's a good way to ask others for their advice or for them to take a look at something they might have more knowledge about than others. For instance, if I have a banknote, which I do not specialize in, I might tag mpcusa or Steveintampa. If an error that is major, maybe Fred Weinberg or possibly paddyman98. It helps to narrow down a better answer than having too many people hazzarding a guess that is out of their field of knowledge. We use it sometimes just to poke fun at people in a nice way once we get to know each others personalities better.

@Jeff Callahan ........just like tommy said.

As for the close-ups, I just can't tell what caused it. I don't see any evidence of a scrape or gouge on the surface of the coin. I guess it's just one of those instances where you can't see anything unless it is under very high optical magnification. Digital enlargement just doesn't get it.

I would like to ask you another question, if you don't mind?

I have been seeing a number grow under Trophy Points on my profile page. How does that work and what is it used for?

It gives them an "Alert" that someone has a post for them to see.

Absolutely nothing, and they max out at 113. They can't even be used if you get in trouble with the mods.

Yeah. I wish I had done a bit more research before I purchased this one. It's nice and it didn't cost too much ($70), but I now know that there are better options out there. Oh well, I'll use this one until it quits I guess.

@Jeff Callahan Like Chris said about the points. We really have no idea. Some sites use them for specific awards, gifts, etc., but here, who knows. Maybe the owner Peter explained it at some point but I don't know. Maybe one of the mods could explain what the original intention was. @lordmarcovan You there buddy?

My last one was a binocular stereomicroscope with optical zoom, but I had to sell it since I have no room for a camera and microscope set-up in my dinky little HUD apartment. When I bought it, the price was $850 (?), but they've come way, way down.

However, if I were ever able to get another one, it would be a trinocular model which has a dedicated eyepiece for the camera. They are much more affordable now.

Edited to change "photo" to "camera".

    Yes, this.

Maybe Peter knows, but as for most of the rest of us (me included), the function of Trophy Points is a mystery. I tend to suspect that’s a default feature that came bundled with the XenForo software platform, but which is not used by CoinTalk.

My guess is the trophy points are the proverbial carrot dangling in front of you that you will never reach.

Except everybody eventually reaches the “magical” 113 points, and then... nothing.

That's when the carrot turns into the brass ring and everyone rides for free. ;)
