Absolutely. I was very, very pleased with the changes the Mint made last year. A $1,000 or $2,000 or more coin/coin set deserves a nice presentation case.

i like the presentation box for the am eagle gold and platinum unc. set. the proof set is fine. but it need to add another box like the unc box. so that it will look better.

I've never seen how the uncirculated AGEs are presented. They are expensive to be sure, but I'd bet the Mint looks at the AGE/Buf Proof coins and sets as having more appeal. They got the first packaging face lift. Maybe others will follow.

    It arrived..

My UHR came today. The book was included. Amazingly, no sig required. The UPS man rang the doorbell, left it on the step and walked away! Glad I wasn't at work

So, for the curious about order #'s...30869XXX Ordered on 1/23

    Love the coin...worth the wait.

This whole UHR debacle leads me to wonder how they could get first in-first out working right for the Lincoln Comms but fail so monumentally on the UHR?

Those of us who waded through the early ordering mess on the UHR have been proven to be fools for trusting the mint, that's for sure.

I've placed calls to Pitney Bowes Govt. Solutions, the Mints Public Affairs office and got now answers. I hope someone gets through to Ed Moy himself. The fact that FIFO is not being honored, the conflicting stories we've heard from the Mint and that as we know of there are only 29,000 of these struck so far with no word on the Mint getting any more blanks, we who ordered early on the first day have a right to be upset and concerened over this. The numismatic media are aware of this issue and it's becoming a bigger bear for the Mint each day that passes and early orders are not being shipped.

Looks like the first day orders started making it out today so maybe next week is our money week!

If this works, and Edmund Moy addresses the problem of FIFO with the UHRs, then I wanna nominate Argento for the Tee-Up, and kiyardo for for the hole-in-one, or perhaps Argento for the pitch, and kiyardo for the Home-Run!!!

    FIFO my ass !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been doing business with the Mint for 11 years and have NEVER had a problem. In fact I would take up for the Mint if I heard someone bashing them......but the way the UHR's are being sent out is a CLUSTER-*#*K to say the least !!!!!!!!!!

Wonder how Moy will explain this......probably with his same old dribble....

EMAIL FINALLY CAME THROUGH. I just checked my other email account and it came through last night at 9:07pm last night confirming the shipment of my UHR.

There is one strange thing that appeared. There were three different tracking numbers. 2 of them were USPS numbers, and the 3rd number is a 1ZE (18 digit) tracking number which is UPS. I wonder which one is correct????? Anyway, I promised to inform whenever I found anything out. My order was started at 12:01 pm on Jan 22, 2009, and got finished at 12:05pm. Here is what is says, except I removed the vital information and the URLs.

We shipped the items listed below today.

Congratulations on your e-mail from the mint. Your number is lower than mine so hopefully I'll hear something this coming week....

How do you interpret your "place" in line for a UHR from your order number? It seems that 308, then XXXXX is a common way for them to begin, but which XXXXX digits tell you anything? Anyone know how it works?

With the huge amount of interest in this coin, people have been sharing their order numbers and order times and through that, it was determined what the order number meant as far as when they were purchased. For example:

30822XXX - Was a range of order numbers right at noon
30822XXX -> 30830XXX - Were orders in the first half hour
    30830XXX -> 30838XXX - Were the second half hour
    So and, So on.

Obviously, these aren't precise as I am not sitting at the Mint's order database but from what I have been able to cobble together, these are roughly how they were taken and they are sequential.

The order numbers in the lower range are finally shipping! Congrats, Charlie!

Thanks Argento. I have faith that FIFO is back. I believe that somebody got in some big trouble, but I think they are back on track now, I really do! I know it's hard to believe, but now that I personally see it, I believe it is happening.

I said the same thing about the Lincoln silver dollars. As soon as mine hit, I said that everyone would begin to get their, and it happened. I think the early order people are back in line and can look for it really soon! I got my email at 9:07 at night, so they are probably working 20 hours a day to get these out.

Or perhaps.... This is only a thought.....Perhaps there were some problem coins with buffing done to them and they knew they had to get those out of the way before the picky collectors and first in line got theirs???
    Only a thought, but possible.

Now watch mine be one of the worst with buffing marks under the left arm. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this matter.

I ordered mine day 3 of availability. My order number seems non decipherable, but I've never been a math wiz either. I'm not really worried about it- just curious, though my UHR should be here today.

My last three orders from the Mint arrived either the day of or the day before I got the e-mail telling me they had shipped.
