The United States Mint is pleased to announce that we will resume shipping of the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin during the week of February 22, 2009. However, because of production problems with the Companion Book, you may receive only the COIN and presentation box at this time. If you are a customer who receives the COIN without the Companion Book, we will ship the Companion Book to you, at no extra charge, when it becomes available.
If you ordered your 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin between January 22, 2009, and February 9, 2009, you are under the 30-day return policy. If you ordered on or after February 10, 2009, you are under the seven-day return policy. The return timeframe for the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold COIN and presentation box will begin on the date you receive it. If you are dissatisfied for any reason with your 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold COIN, you may send it back to the United States Mint within the applicable return period for a full refund or replacement. If you return your COIN for any reason prior to receiving the Companion Book, we will cancel your shipment of the Companion Book. If you receive the Companion Book within the applicable return period, you must return both for a full refund.
If your Companion Book is shipped separately, the exchange timeframe for it also will begin on the date you receive it and under the same return policy – 30 days or seven days – as applicable. We will make no refunds for the Companion Book; we will make exchanges for damages only.

Green18 ... I noticed that I had the same notice when I got to my office this morning. Hopefully they are sincere this time and start shipping. I quit expecting it, but it still gets old hearing lies and a CS department that doesn't care to give good service, even though we are paying their salary.

sittingguy ... I paid for the Expedited Shipping also. That's the one charge that DID hard hit my credit card. When I called about 10 days ago she asked if I wanted credit for it and I said NONONONONO, just leave it alone and I'll worry about those few dollars later, I don't want to interupt or disturb anything.

BTW, whenever you order something of extreme value from the mint they automatically bump up the shipping to expedited at no extra charge...something to keep in mind when ordering in the future.

 

I never select the expedited because my orders are almost always high dollar, and they upgrade, but I just had a gut feeling the UHR was going to be this way, and I thought it would be worth a few bucks chance if it actually came through sooner. Kinda like buying a lottery ticket. I've only ever done that once in my life ... and won an extra $80 bucks.
As it turns out, we all should have cancelled the book. You can't outguess the mint!

According to the PCGS boards, UHR's are shipping like mad and they are going out in no specific order. Some guys who order two days after release got ship notices tonight, some guys who got an order in at 12:05 on release day are still waiting.

 

I wonder if some reports that their coin has shipped are getting confused with the notice that came out telling us they have begun processing shipments again??

 

mint price up and gold down. the mint is not doing a good job.

 

This is possible for a couple of folks, but there are those who got the true shipment confirmation emails that confirms they are just shipping totally at random.

 

Then they are living up to our true expectations. It figures.

I got a little bit of hope going, but I should have known better. I just need to follow your suggestion Argento, and forget about it until it actually hits the door....and from what I've been hearing, it may actually HIT the front door as the truck drives by.
I hate being so negative because it's not my nature...they are dragging it out of me!

 

I dont get it... why is thre such a big delay? the lincoln silver's just shipped out and got it two weeks after order. granted spent only $600 and not the 1300 for the UHR... but I would be livid.

Is the delay in production? or once they are minted, moving them to the distribution warehouse?
