Do you think Gold or Silver is a better investment right now?

Just curious what are your thoughts on precious metals investing when it comes to choosing between gold and silver?

I have a couple American Gold Eagles and a couple tubes of American Silver Eagles but now that I have some of both I’m not sure which one would be better to continue adding too?

I know no one can tell the future so I’m not asking which one will perform better I’m just curious to hear people’s thoughts on why they choose gold over silver or silver over gold or 50:50 of both.

    Thanks :)

I think silver will double before gold....I’m still a fan of gold and have slightly more money in gold than silver and my future money is going towards gold if I ever buy again.

    ??

Why would I want to sell?

Political instability is at an all time high and with the stock mar&3r in for a serious correction (and potentially a recession) in the near future I definitely want my hands on PMs right now.

I’m in the same situation. I have like 2 American Gold Eagle 1oz coins and they’re worth more than two entire 20x tubes of American Silver Eagles and it blows my mind to see how little the gold looks in comparison.

I want to be in a situation where my precious metals act as a sort of insurance for my stock market investments since the stock market and PMs usually go in opposite directions.

It’s definitely easier to store a handful of gold coins than it is to hide 5 silver kilogram bars.

    PMs = Precious Metals.

Usually referring to gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

I don’t invest in palladium so I have no clue.

I like to keep things simple: gold & silver.

They’ve been money for thousands of years and have never been worthless.

Maybe when we start mining asteroids and stuff but that’ll be a while.

I like platinum rings but aside from that I never liked it much.

Ironically advertisers always use “platinum” as a superior level to gold even though gold is worth more.

For example: “Platinum Member” is higher than “Gold Member” or “Platinum Trophy” is above “Gold Trophy”..

    silly stuff.

xD Yeah it used to be.

Idk why the price dropped so much.

Maybe it’s because catalytic converters are being made with palladium now instead of platinum.

Ugh turning coins into jewelry should be a crime!

I’m studying Classical History in college and I’ve seen amazing examples of Ancient Greek/Roman coins with giant holes poked through them because someone thought they’d make a nice necklace. :(

The worst case was a gold Aureus minted under Marcus Junius Brutus. The same man who helped assassinate Caesar. The coin had a giant hole through one of the two daggers on the reverse symbolizing that act. Such an amazing historical relic...destroyed for jewelry.

I don’t know why people can’t just buy replicas if they’re going to ruin it by poking a big hole in it..
