Here's a photo of a counterfeit '44 steelie. I see the same scratch marks on Lincoln's right shoulder. But that doesn't automatically mean yours is not genuine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. It's an exciting find nonetheless!!!
I didn't come here to argue with you, you have me mistaken for someone else apparently. You came for an opinion, that's what you got, I can't make a determination because your pictures are poor. My bad for taking you seriously. I won't be commenting again. Ignore.
It's the reverse of this coin that is most telling. Ignoring the "questionable" grossly executed doubling of the motto only, there are quite a few die signatures that need to be compared to KNOWN examples of genuine articles. I have highlighted in yellow below areas that appear to be RAISED, meaning those would not be post mint damage, but would be scratches or indentations in the original dies themselves. One needs to compare these signatures against known AUTHENTIC and known FAKE examples. Z
How would you know that? Is it magnetic, the details look "rounded-off" as if it were plated. Don't get me wrong, I really hope you have something, but you would need to get it authenticated.
Looks like our "Boy Friday" @Danaro1 has it listed up on fleaBay. Asking a lot less than his "million dollar" estimate. Z
OK, here's the link. Shall we all make him an offer? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1944-Steel...683690?hash=item1aa729caea:g:dEwAAOSwbkVfgoRe
