Oh, goodie! I sure do love the 7070, and like to watch other people's progress with it. It has been many years since I did one.

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

Interesting that some of the designations are ‘turban head’. Can’t say that I recall having heard any coins referenced as that? Is there a date on that album?

It’s definitely an old-school term, for sure. I suspect Dansco has used that nomenclature for decades, and just never bothered updating it.

In the Dansco 7070 album, the “Turban Head” term takes in all the Capped Bust denominations, of course, but also includes the Classic Head half cents and cents. I guess it was an old fashioned umbrella term for all of that particular era’s Liberty heads.

I used to have a Dansco album for Swiss coins which referred to all the minor denominations (rappen) as “centimes”, a more French term. This bugged me a little bit until a European friend told me it was an acceptable alternate term.

I'm still kinda new to numismatics however I have come across these gems recently while working at a gas station. Not sure the values or grades. The nickle seems to be a minting error and the dime is actually thicker than a normal dime. Maybe it was stamped on a nickle planchet by mistake.

Another half has arrived for the Type Set. It was a PCGS XF 40 in an old holder. I kinda hated to ruin the old holder, but it had to be raw for the album.

I accept the teasing from @okbustchaser. But I knew that this coin was also arriving. I felt that folks unfamiliar with early halves may not realize that they had lettering on the edges from 1807 to 1836, and that reeded edges were only on the 1836-1839 issues.

Since the obverses are essentially the same, the lettered-edge and reeded-edge look pretty much the same in the album.

There is an exuberance in the 1825 compared to the more refined hair and stars on the 1838. The earlier Lady Liberty is a barmaid; in 1838 she was a librarian. The 1825 really needs to show the obverse.

But, that eagle on the reverse has really grown on me.

I decided to flip it over. I’ll sacrifice the obverse of the 1838 so I can show the eagle. Seeing it every time I turn to this page will give me immediate joy. And isn't that really what this is all about?

Nice reeded edge Bustie, a perfect choice for a Dansco. Now post some pictures of the damaged slab and you’ll get even more likes :-D

I know that you knew about the edge lettering. (forgot the smiley face)

That is a nice looking '38 reeded edge. Now, even though there is no place for it in the album you need a '36 or '37 reeded edge with 50 cents on the reverse instead of half dol.

I already have a 81S, NGC 64 DMPL. But this one blew me away and was barely over normal MS64 price. I couldn’t pass it up. Hard to capture how awesome the mirror is.

Not a big fan of the US Mint but thought this one was worth the $225 price. Apologies for the quality - iPad was the only thing available.

@Mazeura. Welcome to Coin Talk. You would be better off starting a new thread in the "Error Coins" Forum. You will get more replies. I believe you can ask one of the moderators to move it there. Also, you should post larger, clearer photos of your coins as the pics you posted are too small to see what you're talking about. When you do post photos, always click on Full Size and not Thumbnail. :)

Yesterday’s mail brought the final quarter I needed for my Type Set. This 1834 Capped Bust shows a lot of the design and fits the theme of the set very nicely.

Unfortunately I can’t ever seem to get the true appearance of the SLQ at the right, but it was posted before, so I copied its picture here.
