APMEX Lied Three Times, and Ruined Christmas

    Well put. I am a member of another board and someone there had their sister found dead the day before Christmas Eve. 33 years old too :(

    I think almost all companies try to please their customers (after all, the customer is the reason they're in business). I've caught myself doing this before... telling a customer their product has shipped, or is in paint and will be ready to go tomorrow, or some other stretching of the actual truth. Then I scramble to make it happen... and 95% of the time it does. But when it doesn't, I feel as though I've let them down, and let myself down. Then I get on the phone and try to explain what happened... and it's a very uncomfortable situation. Over the years I've found that being honest with the customer works best. APMEX's only fault was not being totally honest. People hate being lied to. But when put into perspective (as stated in a few previous posts), it's really nothing.

    In my experience with APMEX - I was shipped an incorrect item and they
    issued a refund for both the item and shipping. I was impressed with their
    customer service. The total experience was a bit slow but I had patience.

    LOL..dosent the Holidays bring out the best in folks??? LOL

    I hear ya..I am in and out of almost every major Airport in the US!
    No wonder when I get home I turn into a hermit!!

    I have worked with these folks for a while and never any problem at all!!

    I said what I did above, because I have traveled to NYC before and met all the nicest people one could seem to find. I even ended up chatting with a couple of New York City's finest and was pretty impressed with how proud they were of their city and they went out of their way to give us directions and suggestions on where we were going etc.

    I have gone places and seemingly it was as though the moon was in the wrong phase because everybody was cranky, and maybe that was what happened in New York last week. But on Sunday we met up with a nice Mexican American limo driver that got us out to Long Island and to the airport out there at Islip, so I was yacking with him in Spanish and then turning around and yacking with my guests in Russian - where everybody in the Southwest Airlines were accommodating and eager to impress my foreign guests I was escorting on their trip here in the USA.

    I think those rude NYers you ran into all work at EverBank..because I think I talked to them on the phone before. :). I will only talk to the 20 kind people at the St. Louis branch now.:eek:dd::)

    I have dealt with Apmex before and they bent over backwards to be helpful and fair. A miscommunication during the busiest time of the year shoud not be construed as a lie.

    And.....what the heck does this have to do with the trread of ""BULLION INVESTING" ?

    I myself have spent many thousands of dollars with APMEX all of my business with them has went smoothly with no problems. All the items I ordered came as described!. I also have sold to APMEX and their payment checks have came FAST. I really cant think of anything to complain about other then I think they should put a silver round in those popcorn tins A prise just like cracker jack!.

    Maybe then I would buy more for them. :) All dealers have problems from time to time and this could be one of those. What APMEX taught me was to never buy a coin from them sight unseen - it might not match the coin shown in that grade. I was not willing to pay any return fee's for a $30 coin. So even dealers have problems from time to time, but I do not judge them by one incident alone.

    I seriously hope this post isn't actually from their CEO cause if it is I WILL NEVER EVER buy from them again based solely on this flame...

    1st insulting the OP cause his item isn't worth thousands of dollars? seriously you put a worth on your customers based on the amount of money spent? I would figure all customers are equal if you sell anything to anyone you treat them with the same respect if they spend $1 or $1,000,000.

    2nd automatically thinking the OP a liar and standing only behind what his employees say? I'm all for listening and hoping your employees are right but seriously some people are bad people whether you employ them or not... it's just a question of listening to the whole story to weed out the truth...

    3rd the tone of talking down to the OP like this? I guess if this really came from APMEX they are throwing out any sort of decent customer service...I wonder how many other businesses flame customers for being displeased with their order...and the fact that you actually responded to this posting makes me think it might actually be true...

    and 4th going along with number 3 whether it happened or didn't and this OP is lying there's a way to put it nicely and customer oriented and then there's flaming and this reply left was just a flame and actually takes away from the flamer's credibility

    I just fear such a problem happening for me and then being scolded for lack of professionalism from said seller.
    (keeping decent inventory numbers (since he did say this wasn't an isolated case),prompt shipping in way less then 2 weeks) I may not run a giant company as apmex but I always guarentee to ship my coins/bullion/rolls out the same day or next day I receive payment. and yes it is absolutely possible to do such a thing...it only takes a few minutes of actual work to complete an order on the business side...and I know Apmex has more then 1 order but if your really so busy and can't keep up with demend morepeople or add on some holiday employees.
