This is about the best teaching tool I have encountered online. Not because I endorse CAC (which I do), bit because the commentary is either wry or informative, and often both. So please let me know when I can post a coin for evaluation.

Very cool coin, but I question if the luster is there for a 66. I'll guess no bean.

Looks like a good example of album toning. I agree with the comment about luster but am going to assume it's partially due to the photo. I'll give it a green bean.

I have. I idea how to grade these so I’m just guessing when I say yes to the green bean

I think the luster is hidng under what looks like natural and album toning. I'm voting yes on the bean.

I'm also a bit concerned with the luster but agree that it might just be the photo.

I will say yes to Green.

Sorry for my tardiness - if it makes any difference, I just logged on and was going to say "no bean" because it looks to me like it is not a solid AU 55 - more like a 50 or 53.

With regard to the Pan Pac, I think I see some minor scratches (although they could be on the slab, and I don't think that toning looks nice. I will vote no bean.

No bean on the pan pac. Good original surfaces but I’ll agree with the lack of luster. I also think it’s maxed out for the grade I can see it green at 65.

Yes to the bean. If there was a problem with the luster, I don't think it would've graded MS 66.

Good points all...I had some reservations on the luster as well but I don't think this design shows that all too often so I'll favor PCGS's decision and go with the Green Bean.

No bean. I brought this and a dozen other coins to CAC many years ago. JA discussed every coin briefly. However, I just don’t recall the reason he gave for passing on this coin. The dealer who sold me the coin was very upset. This is not an uncommon experience.

Unknown sticker status and does not deserve a sticker:2

Note: if we don’t know the status of a coin before the reveal and more people say green CAC for a gold CAC coin, then it will go in the area of “Gold CAC on coin but should only be Green” ....see round 3 as the example case

Rd. 10 was 4-4...I interpreted that CircCam would consider it a no (based on a similar example), which swayed the overall vote to a lean towards no.
Rd. 13 was tied between green and gold at 4-4...I interpreted that geekpryde would consider it a gold
