I see several of these every time I get on Facebook, and I always report them.

This has been going on big time ever since the Mint temporarily shut down. There are dozens of phoney companies popping up all over the place. Caveat emptor.

Terrible looking fakes! :spitoutdummy: I'm sure FB isn't gonna do anything at all about it. I mean if you think about it, I bet they don't have a coin expert checking out their coin sales at all so why would they? There's tons of fake ads, fake commercials etc. and FB don't do sht! Hope I can legally say that! :D

FAKE CITY right there... You have looked at enough coins to spot fakes from pics. I have to weigh it, magnet test, re examined it, its a gamble.. roll'em lucky..

20170324_194605.jpg How does that work exactly?
I dont do the Facebook thing either...wouldn't you meet in person and make a deal?
Bring your knowledge and tools to verify...
Everything else seems like the buyer should know better.
These my Dad bought from a guy in Canada off ebay last year.
They arrived in an envelope from china post.
He got his money back and got to keep the coins.

I also get ads for Fake Gold and Silver Bars.

What appears to be happening is that the scammers are pirating websites and credit cards to set up their scam. So until Facebook adds some sort of real validation (such as not accepting ads for sites with free 90 day certificates), they'll be playing whack-a-mole.

Why buy stuff you KNOW is fake? You're not only wasting your money, you're enabling the fakers more.

My Dad bought a fake Trade Dollar knowing that it was a fake.
The seller wasnt sure SURE @ 20 cents on the dollar seller wasnt sure.
He just wanted to see how it compares to the real thing.
The morgans he bought out of Canada were supposed to be GTG.
That deal took some time to resolve but he ended up with a few more examples.

I was a our local coin club meeting and a guest from Mexico was there looking for information on some Spanish Cap and Ray dollars.
He had 12 some loose and more in 2x2 cardboard holders.
    Asking $75ea.
$50ea if real would be the closest I could get.
He asks what do you mean IF REAL?
I Asked if anyone had a good magnet, because I didn't bring mine.
The magnet found 6 that stuck and 2 that wernt manipulated around the table with the magnet.
I bought 4 and explained to the seller that silver does stick to a magnet....
Wasn't comfortable enough with the other 2 at that price and the seller sure didn't want to sell the magnetic ones for cheap.
Seller said he bought them locally for $55ea about 30 years ago.
He genuinely looked like he learned something that day.

Facebook doesn't moderate sales of collectibles. The reports on the site are usually only for abusive behavior or spam/robot accounts. If you buy something and turns up to be fake, that's the buyer's loss. Hopefully if the person uses a credit card through paypal they can file chargebacks or open cases for bad transactions. Then it will be someone at paypal taking action against the offender.
