Yes, I bought a 1/2 ounce PF69 UC back in 2014 and it cost me dearly....a 100% premium which I think was nuts as an investment but I paid it because the total $$$ was reasonable, I couldn't go larger (and cut down on the premium), and I was in my Libertad Phase at the time.
I'd like to own a 1/2 but they're way too pricey for me! The mintage numbers and the beauty of their coins is what drew me in. Plus I got really decent prices as I bought them last year.
I was WRONG....I paid spot bullion price for that nice 1/2 ouncer. That was probably the reason I bought it -- 1/2 oz I had the $$$ for, not a full ounce and the premium was nonexistent so it didn't jack up the price. I thought the coin was a 1/4 ouncer when I posted and that's why I gave the 100% premium figure. Back then, gold was about $1240/oz. and nobody wanted it....it was just meandering....so premiums dissipated. I wonder how much of a premium for a 1/2 oz. Libertad today....
That Viente Pesos is one bada$$ gold coin! I love the man's face in the middle of the reverse sticking out his tongue, it's the perfect look for a gold coin! The Indian Head is cool as well, especially since it's from SF, wish I had one from Frisco!
Here's a 1992 Singapore Gold Monkey, only a 1/10th tho' as the prices for Singapore Gold is super high, even if you go to their website it's crazy! I actually won this one in auction of Feebay a couple of years ago for a fairly sweet price, especially for a 1/10th!
Here's another Singapore Gold Coin from 1991, low mintage, I forget the count but it's less than 5,000 for sure!
