With the recent resurgence of the precious metals markets does anyone expect to see the return of a proliferation of sketchy "Cash for Gold" stores and metals buyers like we did a decade ago? I also vividly remember the kiosks in the malls and the traveling roadshows of estate buyers that made their rounds across the nation at that time holding buying events at motels and taking out large full page advertisements in newspapers.

Your thoughts please. Any reasons why this time will be different?

Doubtful. The spike isn't enough like before, not to mention that everything has switched online right now. It makes no sense to open a new psychical store right now

So nice to see that so many of those 'skunks' have gone the way of the Passenger Pigeon.......

They were there only a decade ago ?

The cash for gold kiosk in our local mall has been there for years. He was manning the booth just last week when I ventured into the mall for the first time since March.

Havent seen any TBH. The run up is too recent to see new businesses open up for them. Also with the $600 extra for unemployed, people seem to be doing financially okay for now, nothing too crazy desperate. Although break-ins and thefts are way up in my area.

I have seen the same. However, I have seen a couple if major new "gold buyers" pop up recently and advertise heavily. I want to go there and give them my name in case anything good comes in.
