I am a die hard US coin guy and don’t much care about private mint sorts of coins..... Maybe a year ago a coin was posted here and there was a great deal of discussion about it. It was a private issue and I recall the discussion was about a controversy surrounding the piece making it short lived...... The image on the coin was absolutely striking and I believe they were dated mid-1990’s. I have worn Google out trying to find this coin. Does my woefully inadequate description ring any bells with anyone?

When I was a teenager, and I couldn't think of a word or name, I'd tell myself this: "Remember this when you're old, and be reassured that you aren't losing your mind -- it's always been like this." I've been telling myself that for forty-odd years now. So far, so good.
