Can this be my first DD?1974 d lincoln

I check out the other 1964 d and my D looks different but the reverse is where it is--lemme me if I should pop the bubbly

The reverse is MD. Flat, shelflike, with reduction in the devices. It’s hard to tell on the mint mark, it appears to be circulation wear instead of a RPM.

 

MD on just a few letter--?I thought MD involve all the letters??just asking?And if you look at other 1964 d --The d is skinny

 

MD on the reverse but the mintmark looks like the top of it took a small hit.

 

MD can happen on a few devices or just one, it depends on the movement between the coin in relation to the die. Here’s the listings for mint marks:

The d for 1964 is alot skinnier

 

Almost 3.8 billion coins were struck. Have you compared your coin to all others?

MD can pop up in any point of a given coin. Even a single letter can be machine doubled without a sign of it anywhere else on the coin!

 

MD and the MM took a hit, IMHO.
