It's amazing that silver stays around the same spot price but the retail price is so ridiculously high? The demand of silver is amazing and it's been that way for awhile. What the heck is going on here does anyone really know the answer or are we all in the dark on this issue? Any theories?
Yes, people are paying way more than they should thinking they're making a smart move falling for all the hype.
Yep, I find it fascinating that so many people are focusing their money on silver when the spot prices stays basically the same! Here's a link that shares a lot of good information, I'm just reading through it right now so I decided to share it. https://www.jmbullion.com/investing-guide/pricing-payments/how-silver-spot-price-set/#
If the spot price stays close to the same price or moves upward slightly and slowly people start to think. Then there's the hype. Add the two together and what do you get. I better buy now before the price gets any higher. And add in all those saying it will go to $130 an ounce or higher. Not in my lifetime it won't.
very few people make money off holding and selling bullion. Except the dealers. Remember most of the money made during the gold rush were people selling shovels and beans
What's a fair price on 45 oz 90% it's mangled and cannot be gauged by face value. This was on a forum so I asked a few questions and waiting. First junk Silver is junk period and how do you know there all 90% if there all mangled up and cant read dates or make coin out?? THINKING OUT LOUD 723.33 spot so I wanna see pic and guessing here figuring bout 57.00 FV I like junk seems like that's all I work on is junk my whole life.
I'm sure bullets were a common commodity as well - lots of varmints (animal and human) were drawn to gold mining activity in remote areas
I've been offered about 70% of melt for sterling silver items (tableware, dishes, etc.) by the local coin shop - I'm sure that buying price would apply to bent, slick & damaged 90% silver coins as well - coins that the dealer can resell in his grab bag box will usually fetch a bit more
