The 1889 (p) was one of the biggest mintages in the series (only 1921 saw more production) so there are a correspondingly large number of VAMs. I've come up more confused than enlightened as to the particular VAM thos one falls into:
I bow to anyone's Peace Dollar grading as probably being better than mine. AU55? AU50? (I catalog with a numeric grade for my spreadsheet) Also, can I get your opinion on the VAM attributions?
I mean, yes, that's definitely a better graded specimen than mine. I meant anyone with more than cursory Peace dollar grading experience can probably judge condition better than I can.
I'm still waiting for a price quote on another 12 coins from the same WeBuyGold place (their "coin guy" hasn't gotten around to pricing them). How long's a reasonable wait before asking if they've figured out a price / not lost my number the *second* time?
