Last week, I posted a GTG 1950-D Jefferson Nickel NGC thread and the coin was very well received with most people split between MS66 & MS67 5FS. I would like to offer two more potential 1950-D Jefferson submissions for your GTG consideration, this is the second of the two.

I will be submitting this coin to PCGS in the near future. Please GTG that PCGS will assign of the 1950-D Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, 5 Full Steps, & + grade.

Remember, please vote in the attached poll and vote for both the numerical grade and the whether you think the steps are full or not. As always, comments welcome!

I'm at MS66 FS with this one. I think it's very clean but clearly a very tired die struck this coin. I'm really impressed with the fullness of the steps due to the die being terrible everywhere else.

65 fs (5fs) ....this one looks to be the weakest of all three (worst strike)...I still went 65 as it's clean but it might not even make the gem grade....the steps are also more nicked than on the others but probably still squeak by for the designation

I had the same thought...but I figured it was just the die dying.

What is indicated by the "trails/ flow lines" on USA and the sides of
    Monticello...don't know...

    That's from a worn die.

GH#75, thank you...is that still an error...and wouldn't a worn die affect the grade...

Not an error. But could bring it down a grade possibly. A ms70 coin needs to be perfect. A worn die means that it is not perfect, so it would prevent it from grading too high.

    I will say MS66 FS.
I love the look of the worn die on this one!

Now this one was graded by PCGS and the slab sustained some fire damage so I cracked it out. I don't think this coin has any shot at MS66 FS so I will not be resubmitting it and will dispose of it as a raw coin.
