Some of you did answer my by first post by accident, and apology. Paddyman corrected me and I placed my own new thread. Thanks for the post.
There have been hundreds of occasions when we've heard that promise over the last 10 years. I hope you will be the 2nd or 3rd person to keep their promise. ~ Chris
Sometimes one must waste money in order to learn. Once they've spend the money and are told the reality they hopefully learned from the experience. It is the only way in some cases.
Thank you so much for the pleasant post. We already have the answer and it is somewhat positive as we were negative about the coin also. It is a anomaly that shows 3 die cast, die mint damage, two anomalist die cast. Slab sealed with paper certification from a high end certification organization. We wanted the attention without giving up sources. The coin sold to the same numismatist (77 years young, P.Hd, 59 years professional experience) for a fair and just price. The coin is on display at one of his dealerships in the Northwest. He paid the fees, I made a profit, everyone is happy. You have given the most professional, experienced, and most knowledgeable (close) post. Be safe, careful, and most of all healthy...
So at 12:38 today PCGS said it could take months, 6 hours later it is slabbed and on display with no proof whatsoever, and you want no more posts. Sure, I can buy that.
See! I told you that most people with their outrageous claims never come back with the proof. If this is what you call PROOF, don't let the door hit you on your way out. ~ Chris
Yeh, I am in the same camp as many others here. I could tell directly that your coin was damaged. You can't say what you said in the first post and follow through with this. It's not adding up on so many ends.
He's like my ex! He feels it's better to lie than admit a mistake and make yourself look stupid. ~ Chris
@Mr.Q If this is true, why did you say in your original post that it was being evaluated? Your story doesn't add up? Would you please confirm which post is a fabrication. Numismatics is a relatively small community, and the error specialists are an even smaller subset. One advantage of a small community is that knowledgeable collectors know the experts like Weinberg, Diamond, Sullivan, Wexler and others. There are also a number of error specialists in the various forums who may not be dealers or publish articles, but have demonstrated their credibility through their posts. Why all of the secrecy surrounding your "expert". Surely, somebody on here must know that person and be able to confirm their credentials. Or is this just some fabricated story, like the kid in Jr high who claims he has a girlfriend in another state? @Mr.Q time to provide more info about your so called expert or some other proof that the coin has been examined by somebody knowledgeable. You're "trust me" statements are no longer acceptable. The obvious inconsistencies in your story and your use of very unusual nomenclature (using die cast instead of strike, for example) does not help your credibility. Time to put up, or admit you're just trolling BTW: your posts sound a lot like another recent member who kept insisting his unnamed expert confirmed coin was an error, even after Mike Diamond confirmed it was damage. You aren't that guy, are you?
is this the second thread with this damaged quarter ?? oooh, the other one was hijacked .. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1981-quarter-that-looks-different.357744/
This is the plot line to about 90% of the sitcoms out there. A mistake of some sort is made in the first couple of minutes and the rest of the half hour is trying to cover up and backtrack instead of just admitting the mistake and moving forward. Then there would be no show I guess.
