I can see the VDB and ther are traces of something below the date but I don't think it is in the right place. I'm thinking what you might have is an 09 VDB that someone added an S to which has since fallen off.
I see a fuzzy S there just right of the 0. Is that where it's supposed to be? Maybe you can hold a 10X against the lens and try to get us a clearer closeup.
Spock, there is supposed to be a tiny die gouge just inside the obv. rim between the R and U of trust, and a die chip inside the B of liberty. If you can see these, it confirms that it is an S vdb, but if they aren't there it doesn't mean it isn't one.(PCGS guide, 2nd ed, p.307).
yikes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yikes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yikes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can see those. if you are sure should i send it off to pcgs then?
Ishould of put in I'm no expert on Lincolns , but I've seen quite a few and never seen one that week , not to say I could be wrong , But the ding on the obverse rim I can see , so I'll keep my mouth shut and let the experts help you , good luck good buddy . rzage
you can see the ding on the obverse rim. if you can see it then i will send it to pcgs first thing monday morning for express grading. lmk if you are positive
I thought the ding was supposed to be "on" the rim but the PCGS book shows iton the field coming from the rim , it runs almost parralel to the rim , check it with your loupe , stronger the better at least 10-20X .
DOUG is there any way you could enlarge the area between the R & U of trust , and the B of liberty for us to see them better . rzage
Sorry Spock but no scanner , but it's right in between the R & U on the field right next to the inside of the rim . Also there is a die chip on the inside of the top loop of the B in Liberty .
