I have been looking for coins to buy, and have visited many sites including Ebay, Amazon, JM Bullion, and even Etsy, and many more on top of that. I have also been to many coin dealers. But I was wondering if any of you have specific sites or sellers that you always buy from? I have a few like that, but with this thread I was hoping I could find more. My favorite types of coins are basically any american coinage (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and halfs) from the early 1800's up until now. Thanks in advance.
I need to update this, but this is a good start for you. (Be warned, there are dead sites here, I need to comb through the list.) Master List of Online Coin Dealers - Dealers with GREAT Website
I prefer buying from my local dealer. An in hand inspection cannot be beat. Only one on line dealer I trust 100% and he is a CT regular. I don’t have the computer know how to do a link, but plug Allegiance Rare Coins in your Google bar. You can be 110% confident in any purchase you make from him.
<Jedi hand wave> You should buy from me. </Jedi hand wave> I've bought very few from ebay, all graded, and low value. I buy from local stores, local shows, and local coin clubs. Once you've visited them and see which ones offer what you expect, you'll do best there. IMHO
There, I snuck it into your quoted text. I haven't actually bought anything from John (yet), but I've certainly admired the coins he's posted here. And he did me a good turn a few years ago.
I totally agree with Randy and Jeff in regards to giving the green light on Allegiance Rare Coins. They've been great! Plenty of nice deals to be had on ebay as well, if you have a fair amount of common sense and learn which sellers to steer clear of. Patience and restraint, GH#75.
Rare Coins of New Hampshire is lately my go to site. I've got a brother their who looks out for my needs.
If you collect American coins you have many choices to pick from. I recommend a coin show if you have one near you. It's nice to hold what you're buying and many coin show sellers' won't charge sales tax on cash purchases. Here in Calif. sales tax is almost 10%
