No Jeff I hate silver because it is a con game propped up with nothing but lies. Most of the silver- pumping posters are newbies, but Jeff you have been around a long time. You know better.

Silver will be extinct in 6 days so you should be out loading up. Seems quite a deal, $18 for something that cures cancer and every other ailment imaginable and is gonna be extinct within a week. Or were those all just lies ?

Silver is just like every other PM and stocks and bonds and baseball cards and coins: you have super-bullish longs, and bearish shorts. :D

    So what ?

I buy silver because I like the coins and maybe in a few years (or decades)....or never....it will be worth $100 an ounce.:wideyed:

Or maybe it's going to $7/oz before that.:yack:

I don't know and really don't care. I'm just having fun spending discretionary $$$ and enjoying the coins. :D

Cryptocurrency is the most popular con to ever come around. The artificial demand is therefore high. The only problem is there is no underlying value beyond the artificial demand. Last one out loses.

Or maybe you and I just don't fully understand it. I feel like the silver crowd was pretty much uniformly against Bitcoin from day 1 and they have been dead wrong ( imagine that ) so now they are digging their heels in rather than just admitting they were wrong.

Who knows how Bitcoin plays out but it's already done everything silver was supposed to do but never did.

I'm old enough to remember many such spikes in value. Silver with the Hunts, beany babies, Vegas...

I love how people are seriously discussing this topic 6 1/2 years after it was posted... did nobody notice the posting date? I don't mean the "2013" part either. THE APRIL FIRST PART.

I'm sure if your timing is good you can make money on crypto-currencies, but there was a time you could have said that about rare tulips and beanie babies. It's just the latest fad, really popular among people who are paranoid about governments in general, or are too short-sighted to consider whether something will have lasting value in the future that's based on literally nothing. Cryptocurrency is only worth something as long as people believe it is and it can be worthless tomorrow. It's not a question of if; it's a question of when. I'm not going to gamble my hard-earned money on how lucky I can be at musical chairs, thank you.

I should also point out that precious metals have never been worth zero. What intrinsic value do 1's and 0's on a computer somewhere have?

People can mock me for saying all of this and I'm sure some people are laughing at what a fool I am. But if all my coins become worthless tomorrow, I still have a collection of coins I like. What will the people who invested in cryptocurrency have if that becomes worthless?

I've never considered it a wise move to invest in something that has value only because people currently think it does, rather than something that has true intrinsic value. That's not investing; it's gambling (or high stakes hot potato). In theory I can make a profit in a casino; that hardly makes that a wise investment move.

I never claimed to fully understand Bitcoin and crypto but you all sure think you do as you all continue to be wrong about it. When I'm wrong I admit it, about bitcoin and about Platinum years ago. You silver hypers are always wrong and never admit it. It's always the "manipulators" fault that you were wrong. Hey silver will be extinct by tommorow hope you got some.

I really don't care if you wind up broke. Really. Have at it.

It doesn't take long at all.
There's nothing wrong with continuing a thread about a valid topic,
no matter what date it was started or how long ago. The April Fools
joke ends quickly, and most of the thread has serious posts and opinions.
You can't read 66 pages, well here's a tip. Both of your recent posts are
too long for anybody to read. No one reads long posts.

I post primarily for my own amusement; if anyone gets any education and/or entertainment value from that, great, but I honestly don't care much if anybody reads my posts.

But clearly you read my posts, since you bothered to respond to them. So there's that I guess.

Just to bring any newbies up to speed, @goldcollector would list silver for sale on this site, take money from member(s), and deliver nothing. In other words, a THIEF. A straight up thief. I hope you get hit by a car.

I’ll be happy to avoid that conversation as it’s none of my business. I’m here to get rich on silver and enjoy the friendly company while we wait.

Silver has lasted the test of time as a reliable medium of exchange for how many millennia?

No, I’ll submit that you are dead wrong. BitCoin has most certainly not done everything silver was supposed to do and, because it is merely a fleeting fascination of speculators, and unsupported by the masses, it never will.
