MISSING CLAD ,I read up on it a bit.. i cannot confirm or deny that it is legitimate,I need your help. It doesn't looks cleaned or anything to me,it appears to have some nice patina as well My concerns..... 1.The weight is spot on,not sure if it should be or not. 2. I've never seen both sides missing, its usually 1 side or the other.
It matches the characteristics of every example I've read about and seen so far,may I ask what is the detourant? And what is the explanation for the thin Planchet
and try to re weigh them with something heaver in between the two weights. And the coin prob had a acid bath.
What was the determinating factor here? I'm trying to understand why this wouldnt be considered,it looks alot like a real one.
It may be a thin planchet error, but it doesn't look like a missing clad error to me. I only have a quarter specimen to compare to, but my specimen is uncirculated.
No not necessarily. Have you not looked at quarters and halves before? Sometimes you see more (or less) of the clad layer.
I have,I am familiar with what it is supposed to look like, this one shows no signs all around it. And is noticeably thinner than the normal dime I am comparing it to
