To beardigger, I had a coin with the same 199 and no toning also no die break. Can not find it, was wondering what it is worth at this time.I know that the grease strike was the cause of the missing number. Any info I appreciate. Thanks
@greed ball I really have no idea if there is a premium to them but I doubt it. I have seen some listed on eBay for $3 to $10 but no sold listings. It's a pretty common error, doubt it really carries any premium. Interesting item to hang onto. There are a couple threads about them on here somewhere. Here is mine. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/199-penny-strike-through.349097/#post-3799401
Here are a couple of photos of the last year for wheat cents,1958 proof condition. I had to take it out of the holder to snap the pictures. The pictures are not as good as I thought they would be. Well here is another post for Lincolns.
Thank you. Yes, the beard and hair detail on this coin is all there. One reason is the dies for the 1916 were reworked. This coin also has an abundance of luster, although the obverse photos doesn't show it. I picked the photo that best showed the detail.
Photos of my two 1947-D Lincolns. The top one was posted almost three years ago (post #5260). The other more recently, just six months ago (#24128).
